I dunno.. Inglorious Basterds was a really good comedy, Avatar was a really good fantasy, District 9 was a really good action movie, and The Hurt Locker was a really good war movie. I can't decide.
Either District 9 or Inglorious Bastards.
I will go with.......... Fook.
Or Inglorious Bastards
He was a quiet man.
If you did not vote for Up in the Air you must not have seen it
That movie was absolutely amazing.
I know, it made me feel something inside. No other movie, besides maybe The Hurt Locker, did that for me.. especially not D9.
i just watched it, was incredibly important and incredible in general
still, a serious man is better...maybe an education too
I haven't seen those :/ I want to though.
Alright seriously, I feel D9 WAS a good movie, but definitely not picture of the year. Neither Avatar should win it. When you look at past winners, these movies pale in comparison to acting and overall story line. I feel as if the Academy Awards have turned into a joke with these nominations.
I think the hurt locker was an amazing movie.
Avatar doesn't deserve to win because it has no story.
If up, inglorious basterds or D9 win, I'd also be happy.
hurt locker had a blooper.
the movie takes place in 2004 right? then why was one of the soldiers playing gears of war on the xbox 360 when that stuff didnt come out till 2005 and 06?
District 9.
I would have picked Inglorious Bastards, but I havent seen it yet.
Inglourious Basterds all the fucking way.

And Waltz definitely needs an Oscar. Not for supporting actor either because he was the main character throughout the movie.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if Up or D9 won. Not that they're bad movies or anything, it's just that IB is just so much better, but really a love/hate movie, and you never know what the people voting will think.
The Academy will never pick a sci-fi action flick. Up In the Air or Hurt Locker will win.
Inglorious Basterds was okay. Not enough action (its a Tarantino movie, come on now), and the story was pretty lame. Great acting though.

I agree with this so hard. That was the fucking best role in practically any movie I've ever seen. It's not often that I really notice acting being good or bad (like I think Degrassi has good actors lol) but he was just fucking amazing.
D9 is probably the best this year, but I didn't feel like there were any good solid films that can stay up there with the greatest films.

And to think that Quentin almost went with Leonardo Dicaprio... *shudders*

Tarrantino movies never had a lot of action.

I love Dicaprio, but he wouldn't have done it the same justice.
if it weren't for hurt locker I'd say either inglorious basterds or district 9
The Blind Side should be replaced with 500 days of summer, it would bring in the same audience and be actually worthy of the nomination too. Also Up doesn't really deserve best picture even though it's one of Pixar's better films, They just put it in because Wall-E wasn't in the catagory last year, and Wall-E truly deserved best picture, even though the climax wasn't very good.
hurt locker had a blooper.

Military gets shit before the rest of us fool.
Tarrantino movies never had a lot of action.
The Kill Bill movies were probably his movies with the most action.
District 9 was alright in my opinion, so I'm gonna go with Up.
I can't decide because I haven't seen them all, so I'll have to choose between what I have and pick Inglorious Basterds, against District 9 and Avatar.
Avatar should win for visual effects.
District 9 and Inglorious Basterds sucked...shut up you all
Hurt Locker for the win
They mention youtube in the Hurt Locker as well, even though youtube didn't exist in 2004.
[editline]01:56PM[/editline]
D9 all the way, baby.
I'd say District 9, but I haven't seen some of those other movies yet, so I'm not too sure.
District 9, Avatar or the Hurt Locker. I'll go with D9.
I have to vote for The Hurt Locker.
I wanna vote for mots of those films, but I'm going with The Hurt Locker.
Inglorious Basterds, Avatar and District 9 was also very good films.
Precious was disgustingly touching and yet refreshingly realistic, and despite it getting my vote I know it isn't going to win since all it does is piss over American culture and their way of life.
Its probably going to go to Avatar, sadly, simply for making a lot of money and being popular. Titanic won best picture too way back, despite being your typical worthless love story with then-beefy graphics.
