Yess District 9 is winning [editline]02:58PM[/editline] Its a brilliant movie
I think UP is just an all round great film.
Nothing really great came out last year...so I voted IB. Not great but meh.
It was a hard choice between Up, D9 and Inglorious.
A difficult choice between Inglorious Basterds and The Hurt Locker, but I had to go with the Hurt Locker, such a fantastic movie.
Inglorious Basterds, everything else was either awful or not entertaining. (District 9 was going to be my choice, but the main character is going to be in the A-Team piece of shit movie.)
My money is on inglorious basterds. That was truely a great movie.
I dare say most of the movies on the list don't stand a chance, especially D9 & Inglorious Basterds. The decision was taken expand the category from five to ten to purely to increase public interest in the awards, to make them more in-tune with mainstream cinema. Ironically, I think Avatar will win. [editline]05:37PM[/editline] Also, Where The Wild Things Are didn't get a single nomination, which is pathetic.
The book of Where The Wild Things Are is much better than the movie.
up, a serious man and precious are the best on that list. moon should be up there. district 9 is overrated smelly nerd movie
I find it so sad that they even let a piece of dog shit like Avatar get on the list. Unfortunately it will win. I vote for D9 Or The Basterds.
Avatar rocked. IDK if it was a remake of pocahontas or DWW, but i liked it.
I agree with this so hard. That was the fucking best role in practically any movie I've ever seen. It's not often that I really notice acting being good or bad (like I think Degrassi has good actors lol) but he was just fucking amazing.
certainly one of the best performances of 2009 however, if you want to see some of the greatest performances of all time, check out: there will be blood (dd lewis) fritz lang's M (peter lorre) marlon brando (apocalypse now) humphrey bogart (treasure of sierre madre) clint eastwood (The Good the Bad and the Ugly) list goes on, but those are a few
I don't see how people are saying that Inglorious Basterds is better than Up and The Hurt Locker.
The Hurt Locker [editline]01:18AM[/editline]
Moon should be up there.
A-fucking-greed.
Avatar will win. Even though it shouldn't.
I'm going with District 9, but The Hurt Locker comes in a very close second.
Inglorious Basterds was the best comedy movie I ever saw, NOT the funniest, but the best. (the funniest was not a good movie, borat)
District 9
NOT Avatar.
Inglourious Basterds only because I love the work of Quentin Tarantino.
This poll requires more Moon. but I just did Inglorious Basterds anyway.
hahah this is the gooniest poll
hurt locker had a blooper. the movie takes place in 2004 right? then why was one of the soldiers playing gears of war on the xbox 360 when that stuff didnt come out till 2005 and 06?
Yeah, huge anachronisms, we know. Still best film of the year. [editline]08:19PM[/editline]
Inglorious Basterds, everything else was either awful or not entertaining. (District 9 was going to be my choice, but the main character is going to be in the A-Team piece of shit movie.)
So, you dislike a film because the actor is in a totally unrelated, unreleased film? :raise:
FUCK. Hit Avatar by mistake. Meant to click District 9.
I liked Hurt Locker and District 9 but Inglorious Basterds was made by Tarintino. There's my perfect logic.
Avatar was cool.. But thats all that is there. Voted for Up.
Up by far. District 9 was nowhere near as good as it is made out to be, I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a good film, but there wasn't too much that was special about it. One thing I really liked though, was the CGI. You really believed that Prawns had mass.
D9 ofcourse.
Those fookin prawns deserve to win.
