Got a lot of 4a engine vibes from the visuals alone. Looks like a solid FPS, hopefully it doesn't turn into another Survarium.
From the STALKER thread:
There's quite a lot of these "Don't touch anything from X developer, I would know because I found their last game enjoyable enough to play for four years straight" posts around, especially with steam reviews, and I can never take them seriously. I'll never listen to anyone who's put 1000 hours into a game and doesn't recommend it, unless there's a very immediate glaring emerging issue.
I like how it looks but I'm probably not gonna play it if it doesn't have some sort of freeplay. All I really want is STALKER with anomalies and mutants and its factions in freeplay or something like it with similar gunplay. There's DayZ and H1Z1 sure but those games always have zombies and nothing else.

If I stroll through the 1000-2500 hours played negative reviews on War Thunder for instance, most of what I will see will amount to "lack of developer communication" "balance changes" or "Russian bias". Those first two in particular seem to be pretty prevalent complaints in most reviews of this sort, regardless of the game. This sort of issue only affects seasoned veterans, and my theory is most of these people just grow jaded and tired of playing the same thing for so long. The top rated negative review for Dota 2 shows 2,657 hours played, complains entirely about meta issues and being frustrated with the community, and then gives the game a 7/10 despite not recommending it. It's simply not applicable to a new player. I do not think these are major issues that will impact the enjoyment of a new player who will likely at most put 100-200 hours in the game.
This looks kind of neat. Yeah, it's another manshooter, but I love the Stalker games. If they're able to nail a co-opish TvT Stalker game then I'm up for that.
the gun is past the crosshair. Why do developers insist on having guns block out a third of the screen thesedays.
i really like the sound design, almost reminds me of BC2
I've been waiting a long time for an "anarchy" MMOFPS that actually works. I have really heavy doubts that this is going to be the one, but here's hoping? From what the two trailers have shown there are three factions- bandits, USMC, and Russian military, so that might circumvent the usual problem of "no groups form because everyone has been trained to murder everyone else on sight"
They could easily put in far more factions though. SAS, GSG-9, vague Terrorist groups, etc.
They could easily put in far more factions though. SAS, GSG-9, vague Terrorist groups, etc.
K.I.S.S.
They could easily put in far more factions though. SAS, GSG-9, vague Terrorist groups, etc.
Pretty sure they're actually just mercenaries or PMCs. I remember reading in some interview that this and Contract Wars are part of the Russia 2028 universe.
