I ignored the last page. I was enraged by this. Freedom of speech is the ability to say what you want without consequence. I just exercised it by posting this thread. In Britan, or in the colonies, you could be arrested/shot/hanged for saying something bad about the king. In America I can say I do or do not like the president and not get arrested/shot/hanged. And I see what your getting at, saying that they can say what they want. I just asked them. I didn't demand it. And whats with everybody saying that people like me are the reason they hate America. I exercised my freedom of speech and stated my opinion on this matter like a gentleman. Many started to insult me after that. I have in no post, dumbed down to their level and insulted anyone. I agree with your frustration op, but you didn't word it well at all. One problem I have with it is that, many say they hate America because of our superiority complex and cockiness on many issues (which in many ways is true), but then there you go talking shit about how we're inferior to your country's standards. It's hypocritical and obnoxious. Now don't get me wrong, I'd be the last person to shed a tear during the national anthem, but I definitely enjoy living here. There are much more blatant instances of injustice, human rights abuses and bigotry around the world. Most of what makes people despise this country is what they see on satirical television shows and such that highlight specific outliers in society. I can personally vouch for a excellent amount of normalcy during my growing up, in my family, friends and community in general; and I live in fucking Texas. Now, having said all of that, when it comes to our extremists, they're fucking crazy. It mainly stems from a lack of education and introduction to modern society, and it's both embarassing and saddening.

Im sorry. I worded it wrong. I made it sound to preachy about how awesome we are. Just pissed because I reading all these shit posts about America. Really what I meant is the end. Insult the responsible not the country. Im very patritoic due to me being a history nut. That also means I realize how awesome other countrys our. Im very proud to be 1/5 French, and 1/5 German. Im proud that I live in a world with so many great countries, people, and things. Im not the moron people have been saying. I was just sick and tired of all the name calling and went on a rant. I understand that it annoys you, trust me. And if you're really a history nut, you'll read up on all the stuff that's happened in this country besides some "glorious" wars. There's some really fucked up shit, and not that other countries don't have their share of nasty marks on their record, but it gets pretty ugly at times for us, especially the early 1800's.
Also, I know it's a little nit-picky, but a lot of people will almost instantly disregard your opinion if it uses improper grammar, syntax or spelling. So maybe just re-read everything you write before you post it.
