My friend got hit by a car on his bike on his way to my house once. They were assholes in probably their late 20's and bumped him from behind intentionally. He only got scraped up luckily.

I once had to use my friend's sister's piece of crap bike which had that system. It only had three gears and I think both tires were flattish. It took me ages and a lot of effort to get to a decent speed, and then I'm used to put my feet in a comfortable position, as in putting the pedals vertically, which involve pedalling backwards. When I did that on that bike, I nearly came to a full stop and I had to pedal again as well as ridding the road of the bricks I had shit. Multiple times. :saddowns:

I really hope you get better. I saw something similar to this on Wednesday in Boston: a Civic ran a red light and "clipped" a bicyclist with 2 completely stuffed Whole Foods paper grocery bags. He was lucky, he didn't break anything, but food flew everywhere.

Riding on the road aint safe either. Drunk Drivers and sometimes there are no bike lanes. So have fun getting your blood on someones car when you stupid kids ride on the road.

Bikes are not supposed to be ridden on sidewalks. Many places give you tickets if you are.
Same thing happened to me, except the guy was pulling out of a taco store and he clipped my tire. He offered to buy me a meal but I needed to get home fast :v:
