So who here was actually nearly died because of the tornadoes?
Not me, I never hope to even be victim of a tornado. Seeing one sounds cool at a distance where it isn't going to hurt or kill anybody or do property damage. You know, away from your house?
I live in Kingsport, Tennessee, which is one of the most northeastern parts, we've had 2 tornado warnings in the past 2 hours. It's crazy, I've never seen weather like this in the time I've been living here.
Off to walk my dog, haven't heard thunder in 5 min. I haven't walked him since 3. I had to go at about 3 so I walked him before I left. Then when I got home at 8 shit was getting bad. I saw a lightning bolt do like a 4 bladed pinwheel. It was awesome :buddy:
Oh damn it. It's pouring rain again. Poor dog :smith:
Only had a bit of a thunderstorm yesterday, here in Louisiana. Hope you guys in Georgia and the Carolinas are alright, I know that area has had a bit of trouble recently.
Don't forget AL, MS, and TN. They've been hit just as hard if not harder.
Its raining fairly bad for when it does rain here in North NJ and I hear thunder every few minutes. We have a flash flood watch and I live right near a lake :frown:
A huge storm hit us starting at around 8:30 PM. We live in Georgia. Anyone else struggling with these storms?
KY has been getting constant tornado touchdowns for a week. We've had severe weather drills every day in school and we've had a few real ones. Tornado touched down just a few streets over from my school today.
Funny thing is, the closest I've been to getting hit by lighting was when it was just a little drizzle and a you would hear thunder every 10-20 minutes. So I decided to go outside and get the mail when all of a sudden *BWOOSH*. A lighting bolt struck right outside next to the house before I went out, knocking the power out for a few seconds and leaving a scorch mark. I lost one TV and my Wii with all my save data. But it's better then having gone out there and getting zapped I think. Now I think this may be the closest I'll get to being hit a by a tornado.
Don't forget AL, MS, and TN. Yeah, apparently a 50 MPH (traveling speed) tornado missed my town by just 2 miles, this shit's pretty serious. We were dead in the estimated path too, the siren's been going on and off for about an hour. I think it's passed now though.
Thought tornadoes could only be 100+ MPH. You must mean straight line winds. They can go from 50-90 MPH
KY has been getting constant tornado touchdowns for a week. We've had severe weather drills every day in school and we've had a few real ones. Tornado touched down just a few streets over from my school today.
Oh really? Where do you live?
Thought tornadoes could only be 100+ MPH. You must mean straight line winds. They can go from 50-90 MPH
50 MPH was the speed it was traveling at.
50 MPH was the speed it was traveling at.
oh oh oh. sorry
Oh really? Where do you live?
Lexington. I don't know if one really touched down but that's what I was hearing. Apparently one touched down/almost touched down near Keeneland/The airport.
Macon reporting in. Not much going on.
oh oh oh. sorry
Oh it's fine I'm not mad, I should have clarified more. Either way I believe it was a possible tornado, that's what they're saying now anyways. This is what I read from weatherbug.com earlier.
At 1212 AM EDT...Weather Service Doppler Radar Continued To Indicate A Tornado With Very Strong Rotation. This Tornado Was Located 2 Miles North Of Manchester...Moving Northeast At 50 Mph.

Lexington. I don't know if one really touched down but that's what I was hearing. Apparently one touched down/almost touched down near Keeneland/The airport.
Oh fuck, I live in Nicholasville.
We had loud as shit lightning and thunder in central VA, I think some rain swung by us too for a while, we were on watch until 11-something I think. I didn't give a fuck because I've lived here all my life and I've seen one tornado. Dassit.
Oh fuck, I live in Nicholasville. Jessamine County.
Damn, not far away. I go to Dunbar, we had 1 and a half/2 hours of severe weather "drills" during 1st and 2nd block. 8:25-10AM.
Damn, not far away. I go to Dunbar, we had 1 and a half/2 hours of severe weather "drills" during 1st and 2nd block. 8:25-10AM.
I know Dunbar, but I go to West Jessamine. Yeah, we got our testing cancelled because of the 2 drills during the morning.
Marietta GA is quiet.
In Fayetteville, largest part of storm just passed over, looks like it'll be calmer now. Still on and off thunder though.
It hit us (Olive Branch, Mississippi; right near Memphis) yesterday. It was raining for a solid day almost (since yesterday at 6PM or so) and died out today. The tornado sirens were going all day.
http://www.weather.com/outlook/videos/incredible-tuscaloosa-tornado-20459 I saw this video and found something kind of creepy. 0:53. There's a face.
Good news... Oregon appears to be tornado free at the moment!
We just had some pretty intense wind and rain pass through about an hour ago up here in ohio.
I heard there were a shit ton of tornadoes. I guess we can say that SpicyTornado officially kills people.
