The best countries are the ones that don't take it seriously.
Portugal :v: Seriously, the whole song is a joke and it was intended to be so.
Norway's contribution is fucking shitty
Habah-habah :smug:
swedens entry is SO bad. at least ESC was classy 20 years ago. now it sucks.
I actually think sending Jedward to the Eurovision for us is a good idea. Their song is the kind of stuff that wins the Eurovision these days, and it doesn't sound half bad. Not that I think we could afford to win :v:

It's wank without Wogan
I wonder what countries Greece and Cyprus will vote for
What's your point? She's ugly.
Hotter than Rybak..
The music just sound the same every year since the beginning of the 2000
I've said it before and I say it again. Eurovision is fucking hilarious. Not because the songs are good, quite the opposite. The Baltic countries always manage to churn out something brilliantly horrible and hilarious. Also the Facepunch IRC is always hilarious.
I can never understand why Israel is in this contest. Someone sucks at geography
You know that kid who tries to act older than he is? Well that's essentially what Isreal is trying to do but instead they're acting european. [editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
I've said it before and I say it again. Habba Habba is a fucking terrible song. seriously it's one of the worst songs I have ever heard. it's not catchy or anything. I remember waking up one morning, shambling over to the breakfast table and that song is on the radio and I'm like "ughghg" it was like I was dying. and since she's black she says stuff like "music has no color, no religion, no past" uhm okay then why are you bringing it up you dumb cunt!?

AFAIK she never brings it up, but it's constantly brought up by journalists.
Agree with anything, but the last bit. AFAIK she never brings it up, but it's constantly brought up by journalists.
ah, that may be the case. I barely watch TV anymore, just small snippets, so I easily get confused
The only reason I watch Eurovision is for the BBC's coverage of it. Pre-2010 it was Wogan doing it (who got drunker and drunker as the night got on), but now it's Graham Norton (who isn't quite as good but still manages to poke a good deal of fun). Example of Wogan in 2008:

My favourite show was quite a few years back. I can't remember who was hosting it, but the two presenters would come onto the stage between songs to announce the what was coming up next, etc. and Terry would make some witty comment about them. The first time they come on, Terry says something like: "Oh here they are, these two are going to come out from time to time and lead us through tonight's show. Unfortunately, this will be done entirely in rhyming couplets and throughout the evening their short items are going to play out into a little sub-plot. I'm not pulling your leg here. I've got a little drop of something here to help me through it and I'd advise you to do the same..." Later on: "Here they are again, more storyline for you....Oh my god, would you look at that man's face... The cold, dead eyes of a killer." I hardly heard a word of what they said, I was just pissing myself laughing over Terry. I think he got in trouble for that show, some of his comments about "Dr. Death and the Tooth Fairy" as he called them, were a little too much for some people. His commentaries after that one were a lot more subdued and the last few were actually fairly boring. He got fed up with all the political voting and the tediously similar music (also, I bet they confiscated his whiskey). I haven't watched it since he announced he was quitting.
I heard one of the singers participating is a transsexual?
He/she won a few years ago, for Israel, and is now competing again.
I can never understand why Israel is in this contest. Someone sucks at geography
"Although geographically not in Europe, Israel is within the European Broadcasting Area and can thus participate in the Eurovision Song Contest." Source I must thank Eurovision for introducing me to Lena, I will be watching it for the first time, just for her. :allears: :allears: :allears: As for Portugal, if they manage to get into the finals, it would be awesome.
IRC, anyone?
Lets all watch it now and chat on IRC. Anyone got an IRC?
Well this is just the semifinals, i doubt a lot of people are watching this right now. I can't set up an IRC channel right now as i'm on my phone. If somebody gets a good one up i'll add it to the OP.
So if there's no IRC, we could use this Tinychat: http://tinychat.com/facepuncheurovision Unless someone else has a better idea.
Make sure to disable streaming though because else it's obviously gonna end in a mess.
Yeah I did.
ah great, I can't see the semi finals but I'll definitely watch the finals
Whe won't get anywhere with them fags representing us....
Russia - Tunnel snakes FO3 reference.
I remember talking to somebody about Eurovision: Me: "We're never going to win it again anyway." Him: "You never know" Me: "Well, there isn't a single country in Europe that is friendly enough with us. Most countries hate us." Him: "Why does that matter? It's a music contest isn't it?" I literally laughed in his face.
Finland will definitely be in top 5 this year.
Finland will definitely be in top 5 this year.
It's going to win because it's "SO DEEP!"
a norwegian newspaper said swedens song sucks ass and the singer should just give up i agree.
