What if the universe just always was? Why does it have to come from somewhere? Is it that hard to conceptualize the idea of everything always existing? No beginning, no end - Infinite. All of the matter in existence has always been in existence; it's only taken different forms other than the universe as we know and see it now.
that doesn't make any sense
The big bang created time and space.
So it's safe to assume that before the bang there was no time. How that would manifest would be pure speculation. But let's say the future, past and present are all happening now. That would mean that the "cause" could be something of the future and the "effect" something in the past.
But they would "happen" they would just be.
Anyhow the linear path of cause and effect would not be.

That whole, "You sound like Patrick from Spongebob" thing almost made me explode in rage.
I'm not even an atheist.
It's a good point and the correct answer is "We don't know"

The big bang has been proven

I wasn't trying to disprove the big bang theory. Because it IS a theory. Please re-read the last half of my post.

The universe still existed before the big bang. It was just a different universe from as we see it now.
It has been proven

No it has not been proven.
Even though I call myself an atheist, and I don't agree with the idea of an allmighty creator, we should try to keep our facts straight. It's still a theory, nothing more.

That isn't proof and it isn't proven, it's just a theory with possible explanations.
The reason why I don't like christianity is because it lacks imagination.
-snip- accidental post
I might believe in a supernatural reason for the universe to start but I sure as shit don't believe in some magical old man in the sky who controls our lives and has sex with other people's wives and shit.
And that atheist was an accurate depiction of 99% of atheists on the internet.
Wait, why is the argument important? I mean yeah, religion causes a bunch of unneeded bigotry, but why is it important to know if something created the universe? What would change if we found it one one way or the other? People would still be generally ignorant assholes.
Whoever made the video is a cocky, discriminating dick. Why does he need to justify his god? People should be able to think what they want to think instead of being fucking attacked for their views
Video is a joke, he's not serious damnit. Is the guy who made the video even a theist?
Let people believe or not believe in what they want but no matter what it is stop shoving it down someone elses throat or mocking people for it. Show some respect for other peoples beliefs and keep your beliefs to yourself.

Newsflash: The video is not serious.

See this guy gets it
Trying to stop this argument or come to a possible answer is like trying to find the twist in a Moebius Strip. Everyone the whole world over has tried at some point, and people have been trying to find it for so long that the challenge of finding it outways the worth of whatever possible answer we could find.
I like to think we're in a petri dish :v:
The video actually seems pretty dead serious to me, considering the fact that it's promoting an extremely bigoted website.
This video makes atheists look like dicks, when reaslistically it's the other way around

Actually it's more that the dicks on either side are the ones that yell the loudest and get the most noticed.
Futurama has my favourite interpretation of God:

Oh.
I get it.
People will immediately leap to fairy tales if they don't understand something.
the big bang theory does not make any assumptions about how the universe was created nor does any reliable scientific theory
the big bang theory is about how the universe expanded
I always like to think if we don't know something we'll find out what and how something was done, like the big bang, we currently only have theories to go on but we'll find out eventually we've always been wrong at one point, we've always seen more even when we think we know the most about something.
This video makes atheists look like dicks, when reaslistically it's the other way around
In regards to the video, assuming the atheist actually was like that, he's have to be a dumb turd, and the other side is just as dumb as well
the video is filled with dicks
anyone who says they know what happened during the big bang is a fucking lunatic and have ZERO credibility and has no idea what they're even talking about. It's always just a matter of perspective and what makes the most sense to what persons mode of thought.
