No it has not been proven. Even though I call myself an atheist, and I don't agree with the idea of an allmighty creator, we should try to keep our facts straight. It's still a theory, nothing more.

That isn't proof and it isn't proven, it's just a theory with possible explanations.
Okay, while you're both right that A) it is a theory, and B) it has not been entirely proven, neither of you get any science points for not taking time to assert that A) does not imply B).
Okay, while you're both right that A) it is a theory, and B) it has not been entirely proven, neither of you get any science points for not taking time to assert that A) does not imply B).
Oh I actually accept the idea of the big bang theory. It doesn't need proof to accept it. But still accepting a thing and claiming its proven are two different things. I also think that, with enough time, science will be able to find the answers. To say it in Dawkins words: "We're working on it" :D
that doesn't make any sense
The start of the universe was the start of time, and cause and effect relies on time.
Weak agnostic until proven wrong.
This video makes atheists look like dicks, when reaslistically it's the other way around
Outside internets, that may be the case, but in the internet, you are fucked for even saying the word God. (ex. Facepunch. I have seen too many threads where someone mentions God, and some atheist goes and throws in something really offensive to the theists.) One thing both sides should do, is to stop talking about unproven theories like it's the proven truth.
The creation of the universe made the law of cause and effect.
Wow, way to stereotype all Atheists as complete dicks. This video is nothing but a bunch of one-sided, biased bullshit.
Wow, way to stereotype all Atheists as complete dicks. This video is nothing but a bunch of one-sided, biased bullshit.
brb, making a one-sided version of this video where the christian is the one who says, "idiot", "moron" and other dumb remarks to the totally chill atheist
Okay, while you're both right that A) it is a theory, and B) it has not been entirely proven, neither of you get any science points for not taking time to assert that A) does not imply B).
agree, so many people don't know what "theory" means when dealing with the scientific method
brb, making a one-sided version of this video where the christian is the one who says, "idiot", "moron" and other dumb remarks to the totally chill atheist
Then some fundie sees that and makes another video like the one in the OP. I hope you guys like shit, because you're going to be throwing it at each other for a long time.
Wow, way to stereotype all Atheists as complete dicks. This video is nothing but a bunch of one-sided, biased bullshit.
Well you could go to the atheism sub-section at reddit.
As a christian I think this is dumb, If you don't want to believe fine, I will try to tell you about the word of God, set an example, but if you obviously reject it, you made your choice. I won't shove it down your throat, can't we just all get along?
Why does the video assume an Atheist "believes" in the big bang or anything else to do with the universe. The reason I am an Atheist is because I came to the conclusion that I can't possibly know *if* there is a god or *if* there was a big bang theory. Everything is just... there. I'm here and I'm breathing and the world is what is it, and that's the end of it. I simply don't believe in anything that hasn't been proven as fact. If somebody is an Atheist and they believe in the big bang theory, they aren't really an atheist. We should invent a new world for people like this.. idiot maybe.
Well, who created God then, Christians?
Well, who created God then, Christians?
Isn't that the thing? Christians don't believe anybody created god because they don't truly believe in the "action and effect" thing or whatever it was called.
Isn't that the thing? Christians don't believe anybody created god because they don't truly believe in the "action and effect" thing or whatever it was called.
Which brings to light, how can the guy that made this video use something as an argument that he doesnt believe in to disprove something else that he doesnt think is right. what
Which brings to light, how can the guy that made this video use something as an argument that he doesnt believe in to disprove something else that he doesnt think is right. what
Err no, the guy was just proving that the guy wasn't as logical as he thought he was. In any case who cares, the video was funny.
anyone who says they know what happened during the big bang is a fucking lunatic and have ZERO credibility and has no idea what they're even talking about. It's always just a matter of perspective and what makes the most sense to what persons mode of thought.
Are you fucking insane? Some of the best physicists in the world are working on understanding what happened during the big bang and they are very successful. I think only the first few fractions of a second are still not understood.
I may be an Athiest, But,
this video is just "hey im better than EVERYBODY!!" it makes me sick
The reason why I don't like christianity is because it lacks imagination.
I think they have lots of imagination I mean, they DID come up with the bible. [editline]13th February 2012[/editline] Also correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't it been proven thanks to the Large Hadron Collider that the universe was created by particles and gases spinning around in circles until it basically exploded (thus creating the Higgs particle)?
Despite the shitness of the video, the atheist's attitude has remarkable resemblance to that of r/atheism's.
I think they have lots of imagination I mean, they DID come up with the bible.
Yeah, but a religion with one god is boring. :v:
Are you fucking insane? Some of the best physicists in the world are working on understanding what happened during the big bang and they are very successful. I think only the first few fractions of a second are still not understood.
I meant it more from a mundane person perspective, but yea, I am insane.
Despite the shitness of the video, the atheist's attitude has remarkable resemblance to that of r/atheism's.
I've mentioned this about 3 times, yet no one else sees how this is pretty much how r/atheism acts.
I may be an Athiest, But,
I hate the fact that the pope needed an adviser to help handle all of the child molestation cases, who was himself caught in a sex-abuse case. But i guess it's OK to not like things. But back to the thread, all i would like from a religion is some proof, not just faith that it's there. Just believing something is there is called blind faith.
I may be an Athiest, But,
Every person who uses the internet must be required to watch this video upon entry.
previous universe shrank down as it ended its timeline, and poof, new universe.
I don't care about what people bellieve or not... but here is the answer. Basically, and in short, Quantum Physics - Anything can hapen anywhere, at anytime for no reason, thats how the universe came to be. Our rules of nature, (like cause and effect), don't apply before the big bang because they did not existed. So the guy in the video is quite right, everything was created from nothing, but god was not the one to do it. [sp]The guy I mean is the one in OP's video[/sp]
God created quantum physics to create everything out of nothing. CHECKMATE ATHIESTS!! EAT MY DICK!!
