Yay im in there. Woooo. Great work guys!
I'm going to repeat what others have said, the inventor is fantastic, it really works amazing as an introduction. The same with internet hamburger, it wasn't as good as the inventor but it is by no means a bad song. Really digging Echoes at the mountains of madness, midi music is cool. =) Surprised my track is up so high, not going to complain though because it means more people will probably listen to it. =) Distant City Lights ended way too quickly, I want more! Not sure what I think of Holy Mountains, really cool effect that's for sure, but I don't think it works that well when it's throughout the whole song. A Great Depression was pretty neat, extremely long but you managed to keep it interesting until the last 2 minutes, around there I just skipped. I'm really digging Unlimited, nothing else to say. Scarecrow's lament is so far the weakest song of the album, I don't like it at all. Soundscape was really cool, great track to hit off the last song. =) Ok Harmonizer if you want to sing you have to sing it out from your gut, your voice isn't horrible so all you just have to do is to put some confidence behind those words, sing like you mean it. It's as if you're at your room not wanting to sing too loud so that your parents hear you. A really strong track nonetheless, the singing ruins it slightly but with some confident singing this track could honestly be something you could put on the radio. =)
"Inventor" is a bit too much movie music-like for my taste, but I like it, as it actually does the job that a soundtrack to a movie should do - I see an inventor working in my mind. "Internet Hamburger" is not my taste, and for me it sounds like it was ditch together on a cellphone, but well, as I said last time, don't take my opinion on this sort of music too far, as I generally dislike the genre. "Echoing at The Mountain of Madness" is a too plastic for my taste - I don't dig the keyboard synthesized sounds. There's parts in it that I kinda liked, but it went on for too long with the same theme obstructed by some drums and some indefinable sound. I kinda liked the quiet parts, though. "Starbase X13's" first part made me dizzy, and it was probably on purpose I guess. The very slow crescendo, with instruments and themes added after eachother reminded me a bit of Mike Oldfield's Turbular Bells, but you didn't come to the same "conclusion" (If you can call it that, I'm not english), but instead dropped off. I liked it, though. "A great depression" feels pretty damn Mike Oldfield inspired (length-wise too), and this is not a bad thing at all! At the same time I feel some legacy video game music over it. I like that it isn't just straight forward, though I don't really like the break at ~3:20, but you make a great "comeback" at 4:10. I like the theme at 4:50 aswell. I think you have some places where the song's pretty weak, the parts with keyboard and drums only. I really like the part coming up to the guitar solo, though I think you could have made the drums a bit more advanced, as it in my opinion needs it. I didn't quite get the idea with the "Di - da" keyboard places, but after some listening, I think I've catched the idea, as you make the music kind chaothic and the music changes style quite dramatically after each one - kinda like a depression, I guess. I listened to the whole thing, and I feel that the ending could be better. There's one thing that you missed totally with this track - I'm not depressed at all, and I actually sat and played imaginary drums to this. "Untitled" - It seems that many tracks on this album is a bit Mike Oldfield-ey, and I like the guitar on this one, though if you want to have piano as your main theme - make it more interesting. "Scarecrows lament" is, sadly, a bit lame experience, and I don't like it at all. You'll have to work with other things than the sounds your using in this song, because it's very boring. "Soundscape" reminds me of movie music, and very much of a specific soundtrack - I think it's a super hero movie, but I can't remember the name. The end is a bit of an odd one out when you've listened to the rest of the song. "Coming Home" is not my cup of tea, I don't like the text, and I'm not fond of your singing either. The text is cliche, and you sound, as Dick Tracy also pointed out, like you're afraid of that someone will hear you. And you sound like you can't reach the notes that I can hit no problem right now, and I'm under influence of a sickness making me not reaching very high. I like the instrumental parts, but I feel that your bass and guitar could be more interesting instead of just playing the same chords again and again. The one minute part with the keyboard sound at ~5:40 or something makes me wait for the bass to slide in and a guitar to accompany it - a wish you didn't fulfill. This song suffers from you not singing as good as you are probably able to, and from some instrumental parts that isn't as good as they could be. Overall, I think this collaborative is much better than the previous, and there's some great tracks on there. Sadly, there's parts that isn't as good as they should be. I'm not going to give stars or anything, as all the tracks are made by different persons, and therefore it needs individual criticism. I hope that you appreciate that I took my time to write this out, and I think you deserve it, because it's very good for an internet forum release.
Way better than the first one. :golfclap: [editline]20th May 2011[/editline] The last track sounds a lot like this: A lot.
It was intentional, but for a reason I'd rather not reveal. All I'm going to say is that I wrote that song during a really bad part of my life and that song basically described how I wanted things to be then; I wanted life to be a dream, and I wanted to wake up from it. So I wrote a new song around the chord progression, and I threw in the guitar solo thingy too. I wasn't going to put it on the album until I posted it in the Gig Room. I feel like I'm putting too much attention on myself now, so go listen to the album! Don't read my useless words! I can't respond to all of this right now, but I probably will later.
some of the tracks are quit nice. good job except for that last one 'coming home', it's so laughably bad i died [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
It was intentional, but for a reason I'd rather not reveal. Some really amazing songs on there
Really nice job. I personally think it's the best release so far.
The indefinable sound is a MIDI distortion guitar.
Fair enough.
Ak'z has no contributions and it's the apparently the best album :laffo:
I feel cruel for giving 0.00$
listening to "Starbase X13" on headphones... wtf
listening to "Starbase X13" on headphones... wtf
It's not the first to use stereo seperation, listen to more music.
It's not the first to use stereo seperation, listen to more music.
No, but I've never gotten dizzy when listening to music before.

I would love to hear more reviews of the album. :buddy:
Why does it only have 11 songs when the 2nd had 25 and the 1st 16?
Why does it only have 11 songs when the 2nd had 25 and the 1st 16?
Not as many people submitted their songs. As for why that happened, the thread seemed dead for a long time and there's quite a few other collaborative efforts going on in the musician's gig room.
Stop posting this everywhere.
It's only been posted in the prog section and here :smith:

I'm glad you enjoyed it! [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
I would love to hear more reviews of the album. :buddy:
You should write one. =)
Well, that's my goal, so thanks! :buddy:
Then I congratulate you.
apparently my song is the 'weakest' on the album. maann. :smith:
Any songs that have lyrics like Pepin's "Oven Mitts" and StoolTable's "Brandon dropped his stick" from the other albums? [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
apparently my song is the 'weakest' on the album. maann. :smith:
It's not bad [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
I feel cruel for giving 0.00$
It's apparently the price you're supposed to give, but some people still give money and that goes to paying the site. Another! I really wish I had money to donate to this :saddowns:
You should write one. =)
I would but I'm horrible at reviewing stuff, since I pretty much like everything.
It's a great album and Hakita you should know I can't resist your existence for some reason
Oh thats just my incredible sexiness :smug: [editline]20th May 2011[/editline]
Another!
I would but I'm horrible at reviewing stuff, since I pretty much like everything.
I could bet my left nut you don't like pretty much everything. =) I'm also certain you can still write something valuable to those who have made the music, maybe write what you liked about the tracks? Expand on exactly what it is you like about them, I know I would be very happy to learn what it is you like/dislike about my track for instance.

Can't expect people to take time out of their lives if you can't take time out of your life.
