So you are not in a hall with 2000+ sweaty cs:s nerds who shout and rage everytime they lose, instead you are in a smaller room with (mostly) people you know and can relax a bit more without having to watch over your shoulder all the time
i say put up a vote for it?

There's not much point of a vote yet

You've obviously never heard me when I play then.
I never rage. Nor would do in public.

I'll bring some stress balls
Hey, 'sup!
I joined you guys in the TF2 section at last summer's i-series event. I40 was sweet, and I'd prefer to sit with some sensible folk rather than the ever so rowdy, "Sweaty CS:S Nerds". Last year I wasn't very sociable with anyone here at Facepunch, so I'm booking up on my forum trawling early, in order to introduce myself.
I am attending this new event but my brother was set on making a clan seating area for him, me and our friends, etc.
Problem is, I can see us being quite a small group and with the attendees list on the front page, being so bare-bones. I thought it'd only be wise to join together our groups and form an Alliance of Togetherness for the Expansion of Large Scale Global World Domination. ¬_¬ Or we could just look after each other's stuff and go out drinking once in a while. =P
Oh and my name is Stu by the by, Hi!
Hey Stu,
Where abouts were you sitting at i40?
Welcome to the forum BTW :)

But I don't see that as the point in going to a LAN. That's why Stoneleigh was so fucking good compared to the crappy Newbury site.

That is stu :v: On the left.
Oh yes I remember you. You gave me the dirtiest look ever that time when I cock-blocked the entire blue team with one sentry.

Hahahah! :D
I also made the most awesome cut-out of the batman logo(if I do say so myself) and caused a minor ruckus and attention by shining lights up at the ceiling through it. I needed help :( Got butt-hurt.
Hi Gary! Cheers! :D The picture up there^ shows where I was, I'm doing my batman logo there I think. And you're on the opposite side doing a mean impression of Drill-Cat

I was in awe of your rig too. Most Awesome and practical use of a flight case I've ever seen. ^_^
Having just read the post made by MPUK a couple of days ago about clanboxes, it isn't going to happen. Even if we got 32 people wanting to sit together, most of us aren't willing to pay an extra £10 each (£320 total) to sit in a smaller room.
I really want to go to this but I'll have to wait until next year because I can't spare the dosh

£10 isn't really a lot for your own private, air conditioned room. considering it's classed as a premium service just like the EAS, it is hardly breaking the bank anyway, it's the price of a 3D cinema ticket or 3 pints. Plus as wizzo says in that thread, people are moaning about it even though most of the complaints are coming from people who have already gotten 20% off their ticket with the early bird offer.

To be perfectly honest I don't see the why you're making such a fuss over getting a clanbox.
I personally think being confined away in a small room with only 32 people just isn't the same as sitting in the halls.
So fucking what if people scream and shout over getting killed, that's all part of being at a large lan isn't it?
I honestly couldn't give a flying fuck if there is someone shouting "noob!" or "lol headshot" because all we need to do is turn around and go "shut the fuck up" and tada, problem solved.
Or alternatively get into a huge argument with them which is hilarious.
I won't be coming to i43, I don't like the halls atmosphere, G2 at i42 was bad enough.
Maybe i45 if we're back at Newbury.
G2 was an extreme case as we were sandwitched between the two biggest CSS clans on that floor, plus if we actually select seats in an area that isn't CSS then we will be fine. You dont notice the noise across the hall, having been to 2 large hall events i can guarantee it will be fine.
That plus it's right after A2 results so I'll need to be at home sorting uni shit out and moving into halls... :v:
I shouldn't really be complaning about the hall anyway, i will be spending most of my time in the press room, will only be on the main floor for a few hours each day
Just booked with EAS to play safe, £15 is nothing really so it doesn't really matter if I don't turn up the day before but if I plan this all out it'll come in handy.
Now I need to plan out getting there. :v:

If you weren't sure about whether you would get there on the thursday or not, you can actually pay the £15 on the door when you get there. They sell EAS on the door as well as online
I don't know if I'm going to be going to this, got quite a lot of things to sort out like going to university and work and such
I'm looking to come, I've never been to a gaming festival bedew so hopefully you can answer some of my questions.
Do we leave our computer equipment there overnight or when were not there?
I like the idea of getting a Clan box, Is that a private room away from everyone else?
Would you treat people who are younger than you (~14) the same a anyone else?
Would I be patronised to play TF2 With you guys?
Would anyone want to compete in tornaments like CSS and minecraft with me?

Aslong as you are not an annoying little shit yes.
You'll be treated exactly the same as everybody else.

Doesn't really bother me, like I said £15 is basically nothing to me at the moment.
Drinks on Eddy
I'm going to see what kind of shit I've got on in August, I really hope I can come but there are some pretty important things happening. Like Deus Ex
