isaac unbutton your top button
isaac unbutton your top button
It's part of the style. I know exactly the look he's going for, but can't find any examples, I'll keep looking. [editline]26th February 2012[/editline] I know of better examples that look more like what I'm thinking of, but I can't be assed to keep digging up the depths of tumblr.
i was unaware that top button was a style, i always leave the top 2 unbuttoned on my shirts like that. but i do have a huge adam's apple that gets hurt from buttons ;(
Didn't do his pocket button up.

exactly what happened the way my friends friends acted about getting a flash in the face, you would think I was asking them to stare at a nuclear explosion. my excuse for the crazy over exposure is that they wanted to be slightly anonymous.
The pupils on the flashed side look so creepy.
Yeah, that was a cool side effect.
I think if you're going for a series like that, you should really work on getting the headshots consistent. Lighting up each of their faces in exactly the same way would help create a more homogeneous effect. Also, there's room for improvement in the background. Those shirts hanging up could be a backdrop, you haven't quite made it. Maybe space them out more on the hangers behind your subjects so they cover the whole background and shoot from maybe a foot higher so you're looking down on their faces (and subsequently get less of that distracting wardrobe in the back).

I think I'm going to retry it but use a tripod, have tape where they should stand, and use a blank backdrop. Its true, the flash was very inconsistent, because everyone held the flash for themselves, just out of frame. I should really buy a remote flash trigger one of these days. Thank you very much for the feedback, the remake of this photo will be 100X better.

Just had the first sun in weeks here, so I grabbed my camera and experimented a bit with the lighting. Found out that my closet worked perfectly as a reflector. :v: It's not easy to get enough distance when you only have a 50mm at your disposal.

Can I get some crit on my pose or just the photo in general? Appreciated in advance :)
like i said, hand on head is hot shit. photo is phenomenal, i love the focus and the colors.
i think maybe a wider framing and your back less slouched forward would benefit your cause.
