That keeps the earths orbit in eclipses.
Uhhh..
Eh, no. If inertia had its way we wouldn't be orbiting the sun.
Yes, but paired with gravity, it's doing it's best to keep us from falling to the sun.
This concludes our lesson on 8th grade physics, everyone.
Things don't 'fall up'. Don't say anything about 'falling' up some stairs, either. That's tripping over a step, and the gravity takes you down.
He's joking.
This is a debate on the fact their is a law about gravity, but their are 3+ theories that explain it, but which one is right? Some people say that the theory of gravity itself may not be a theory at all. The effection of attraction between two bodies with mass is a LAW, the reason for this on the other hand we are still investigating. The first man to make a theory related to Gravity Was Issac Newton who was the man who made the Law Of Gravity, and the space time theory can kind of link to gravity and I guess carve in a theory for it, some what? Gravity is what keeps the planets in orbit and what makes you stay on the earth and such, but the best of minds cannot give a real solid explanation of what gravity is. Since all of the details of gravity are not yet entirely understood, it is still just a theory ... certain aspects of its effects here on the surface of the earth have been considered as law because they have been observed and measured and found to be constant, but gravity itself is a mostly unknown and not yet understood force that we have only been able to theorize about.
Gravity is amazing huh?
You know you're really annoying. Keep these kinds of things to yourself and stop making threads.
gravity is the attraction between two or more bodies of mass. what is there to debate? thats why it's a law
It doesn't say anything about gravity in the bible, thus proving it false.
it is still just a theory
god fucking damnit
so then, how are we standing/sitting here without floating off then :derp:
I thought gravity was a fact since
like fucking caveman times.
Some people here need to actually take Physics before they actually debate on a subject they never learned from a school.
I thought gravity was only for rich people :tinfoil:
Cream gravity.
As far as we understand, particles with mass depress the spacetime around them somehow, and objects fall into the space as a ball rolls down a sagging trampoline. The standard model would suggest that this is mediated by a gauge boson as well, the graviton, but there is no evidence that this is true yet. We don`t even fully know how things have mass, at least until we verify the existence of the higgs boson.
Every second there is a 1% chance that gravity will stay in effect. The other 99% has just never happened.
I think that it is a side effect of an object of a large mass in the fabric of space-time. It bends and warps the space-time around it causing gravity. How it causes it? No idea. But this Theory makes the most sense to me.
I don't believe in gravity.
Therefore, for me, gravity does not exiIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIii
:psyduck:
It doesn't say anything about gravity in the bible, thus proving it false.
That's not true, I think people fall on occasion. And they walk on the ground and don't float in the air.
Of course, WHY gravity works is debatable. But debating that gravity 'doesn't exist' is simply one of the most unintelligent things someone could ever utter.
I think if you guys took chemistry and physics you would understand.
The mass attraction theory would explain why all the fattest people accumulate at kfc and mcdonalds.
