Athiests: Your rights are being violated in seven different states.
Okay first of all...
I believe OP has displayed evidence of these laws being enforced.
And many of these states weren't even created in the same century as the constitution (which was written by a group of anti-theists, i might add.)
It's not called crying and whining when you're standing up to your rights.
I.e. blacks, women, gays
Call those groups whiners too?
I didn't think so.
Every group has people that whine.
abloo bloo bloo suck it up
a lot of people here would probably raise a big fuckin stink if there was a moment of prayer after some tragedy or something because MY RIGHTS instead of politely just bowing your head
your rights aren't being violated and if you say "I believe in God" for political expediency noone will fuckin care and you aren't gonna have a mental breakdown, but then again maybe some athiests would since apparently many of them are mental babies
pray to god, allah, buddha, shiva, it don't fuckin matter, it's all playing pretend and everyone plays pretend every day of their lives in order to fit in. you pretend to like something because your friends do, pretending to be religious is the same thing
I half agree with you, for something in the event of a tragedy and having a moment of prayer, i'm not gonna bitch about that, but if I were to take a public office I they wanted me to tell the world that I belive in god when I don't, that's when I'd get pissed off.
because christianity = all religions
hooray for that your "open-mindedness"
All Forms of Christianity: "I'm not sure why the world works the way it does, so it was obviously created by an eternal, all-powerful, invisible man in the sky."
All Forms of Judaism: "I'm not sure why the world works the way it does, so it was obviously created by an eternal, all-powerful, invisible man in the sky."
Buddhism: "I'm not sure why the world works the way it does, so I will obviously keep being born again and again until I reach enlightenment."
Islam: "I'm not sure why the world works the way it does, but obviously if I please my eternal, all-powerful creator in the sky I'll get 72 virgins when I die."
I could go on, but there are too many religions in the world to keep copy/pasting and adjusting the text slightly to be in context. Happy?
And these laws are ridiculous. How could they have been passed in the first place?
Good sir? Where is the evidence
Good sir, Look these laws up.
Good sir, There is nothing to stand up for in this current situation.
Good sir, you are wrong.
Good sir, the evidence is already ITT, posted by OP.
As well as the laws.
It's called standing up for a potential rights violation.

why does it get you pissed off
you can say it but that doesn't mean you have to think it; normal people don't talk about religion on a day-to-day basis and if you have to tell a little lie that nobody is going to think twice about, why does it matter
it's not like albert einstein and charles darwin are going to damn you to the postuniverse if you denounce your beliefs for expediency's sake
Just because it hasn't caused a problem doesn't mean it won't.
There is less of a chance of these laws being enforced now then they would be in previous years. Unless, of course, some religious extremist was elected as some city official. Still, everyone knows that these are unconstitutional, and at this current moment it isn't a problem and probably won't be.
These don't apply to me anyways I go with god and fuck all of you who don't
i'd rather be open minded and maybe find a religion that suits me rather than cancel it all out
and while youre dwelling in your rebellion you could instead go all the way and be a nihilist
nah nihilism is badass
These don't apply to me anyways I go with god and fuck all of you who don't
Pray for me please. I'm an evil, horrible atheist who needs to be punished.

I don't understand why you're all so avidly defending keeping these laws in place.
They're obviously unconstitutional, so even if they aren't causing problems, why not get them removed anyways?
If there's a landmine in your backyard, and your kid hasn't stepped on it yet, are you just gonna leave it there?
Pray for me please. I'm an evil, horrible atheist who needs to be punished.
you may joke about it but your time will come

If you guys, or anyone, has a problem with these laws take it to court, theres no need to sign some petition for something that is unconstitutional.
so if something isnt completely proven by science you have to reject it and not accept any possibility of it ever existing???
pretty close minded
Troll.
I don't care, I'm staying Agnostic.
Constitutional rights. End of discussion. These laws don't matter regardless of if they're still in effect or enforced.
you may joke about it but your time will come
I can't wait.
I fucking hate all of these Anti-Theist calling themselves Atheist. You people give respectful atheist a bad name. You are no worse than the people you rant about. Also SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND MOTHERFUCKING STATE THIS THREAD IS OVER!

Good sir, What evidence, all that's up there is a large quotation stating random laws, That's not evidence, That's just a spew of bull shit.
And If you're talking about that "everything 2" That's not a source, that's just a different website with the same bullshit on it posted in 2001.
If these were true, It would be all over the news, law suits would be thrown around like crazy.
Good day to you Good sir, I declare myself the Winner.
If you guys, or anyone, has a problem with these laws take it to court, theres no need to sign some petition for something that is unconstitutional.
So esentially you're saying instead of ever petitioning anything, just pay court fees and hire lawyers and go directly to court?
Yep you're right.

How am I Ignorant? I'm sorry that I actually did some research and found out when and what these laws were for, So get the fuck back under the bridge Troll :cop:
And if you're not a troll, then you truly are expressing blind ignorance.
Good. I like it rough.
Hell has all the interesting people anyway :keke:
So esentially you're saying instead of ever petitioning anything, just pay court fees and hire lawyers and go directly to court?
Probably be quicker, but then again, no one wants to do that since these laws don't affect anyone. Like other people have already said "separation of church and state" this thread IS over, yup.
