I'm not too well-informed on this Kizuna thing but I'm assuming it's a company that does it with a mocap rig or something similar to FaceRig, right?
people are assuming a mini-mocap studio or a weird kinect/vr setup
Jesus fuck.. Even 100% virtual youtubers need to splice their videos with jump-cuts because they can't form coherent thoughts or deliver a single line without them.
I've seen like, one image about OS-chan in LMAO pics so I didn't take it too seriously, I'm just wondering how well it will be received by the average traveller who doesn't follow trends like this or isn't too internet-savvy, I'm sure it wouldn't dissuade them from going but it'd probably be pretty jarring having a 3d model screech at you
then again this is japan so anything goes
I know you're banned but I just want to add this bit of info in so anybody else reading can read up on it. OS-Tan is a viral marketing campaign that's been around for a very long time. It originally started as artists making fanart but Microsoft recognized it was gathering some big success with different markets, so they decided to make it kind of an "official" thing.
You may find this "weird", but it's something that's not that far-fetched for Japanese culture.
whoever made this decision, :stop:
you make us look like a bunch of otakus and are only attracting weeaboo trash

I was being sarcastic, of course I do not.

I STILL don't know what this is or if its an actual AI but I still think this is the best thing my ears has heard.

I need the misadventures of Godzilla trying to show off tourist attractions while at the same time not completely demolishing them in the process
So they released 2 more videos a week ago, thought I'd post them.
These are about Japanese subculture and hot springs (????)

I'm confused, are these girls talking or men with voice changers.
Girls pretty much. Voice changers are quite obvious.
The only thing that always amazes me with Kizuna AI is how most Japanese people have zero problems that she is basically 90% marketing and only a few videos here and there are original content.
Most of her videos are pure marketing like playing some mobile games to what this campaign is.
Most of the other "Virtual YouTuber" strongly follow this trend, new ones are actually pretty much only created to get the same marketing money quick.
Technically Kizuna AI beats any of them, Im still impressed with the facial rig they use, it is quite expressive compared to others.
They could really improve the full body tracking though, shouldn't be too hard with their budget.
People behind Kizuna are apparently also the only people to manage 60fps for some odd reason. (Looking at you Kaguya Luna)
Personally I like her, just got tired of the constant ad videos, had a better ratio of original content in the early days.
Since it was a discussion on page 1, yes pretty much everybody knows that this is just a voice actress playing a character.
It is pretty much similar to how VRChat has become quite popular in the VR space, it has some streamers that got big because of the persona/avatar they play in VRChat.
Kizuna and the likes are not really different. Your regular YouTuber just with a "spin" to the story.
It's a girl putting on an anime voice. In her other videos she tends to 'break character' and stop being cute and talks in a more regular voice. Usually pointing out how dumb or weird something is.
My favorite virtual youtuber is Nekomiya Hinata. She exclusively plays games and is fucking amazing at FPSes.
