Trading and PvP have been one of their "top priorities" since launch, yet all they can say still is that that stuff is still on its way.
Not exactly too little, but certainly too late.
how the fuck did they think releasing a pokemon game, whose main tenants are fighting and trading with your mates, without the ability to fight and trade with your mates, was a good idea? seriously
Yes. There's an option in the game itself called "battery saver". If you turn that on, the game will dim the screen and lock itself when the phone gets turned upside-down.
Cool, that must be new. Last time I played battery saver mode just dimmed the screen, but I would still end up hitting the home button through my pocket.
No Walrein, no download.
I don't play this game but if i did I wouldn't really care about trading or pvp. Those aren't the things that made this game such a cool novelty

Oh, I'm on iOS so I didn't think about Android with its digital buttons. It probably works the same way as it always has on Android, i.e. it wouldn't solve your problem.
Using the GO Plus lets you put it in the background and lock your phone, but good luck actually finding one for retail price.
then again, why even play pokemon go when you can play the actual game and get exactly what the game is about.
is like downloading a sim app and do nothing but screencap people's profile pictures.

Really the biggest draw for me was it's basically a fitness app with a little bit of game on top. It gets me out to see new parts of the city, and it makes my long walks to the bus stop every day feel a little less like wasted time if I'm hatching eggs while I'm doing it.
Can't wait to finally catch all 28 forms of unown
you all laugh but I'm fucking serious
So they were making 10 million dollars a day when this game came out.
Why is it that the game still functionally sucks and has almost no gameplay to it? You'd think just a quick re-investment into re-developing an interesting game would be worth it.
I'd rather replay the original G/S/C versions.
But then again, those are amazing and are very dear to my heart.
they put it back and made it better

This system is actual genuine garbage.
It'll show you a Pokémon that is a good 10-15 minute walk away but won't show you something that's in in your vicinity.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good tool to check for something more distant, but there currently still is no way to find pokemon right by your feet.

To make sure some mobile game didn't completely usurp the actual games (much less Sun & Moon) in terms of player interest maybe, but that's just a guess.
I still play this game now and then, mostly because my job consists of walking 8 hours a day and it keeps me slightly entertained.
Otherwise, I have no initiative to play it whatsoever when I'm not working, it's very lackluster nowdays.

Because companies see consumer interest in products as a curve, hoping it rises above prior peaks is immensely hopeful, and hope is a risk. Usually it's more profitable to take those earnings and push it into something else that can have it's own peak (besides a new yacht).
Though I agree that this could have been something so much bigger if it had actual gameplay.
I would be more excited for this if there were any Pokestops anywhere near my apartment, and if it wasn't fucking winter out.
Shows picture of beach and people outside in the sun.
I then look outside my window.
Thanks for my daily reminder that it's still snowing.
