What a waste of perfectly good engineering. EDIT: When the fuck do I get my holo-strippers ffs.
The beginning instantly killed it :v: when they can do this, call me. Not joking, seriously call me.
Once you get passed "Just be friends" part is turns kinda dark
Once you get passed "Just be friends" part is turns kinda dark
No you misunderstand me, the first five seconds killed it. And its English Subtitles for fuck's sake. I don't wanna read what I'm listening to unless its a serious movie or an Anime series.

Perhaps this will be more to your liking Swilly? There's vocaloid music of every single musical genre out there, you just have to look for what you want.
Its the voice! You should've immediately seen that when I noted I don't listen to vocals beyond the early 90's, and I put The Who up there. I even made a reference to the High Pitched Schoolgirl or Deepened Hardass Woman-sama. I don't like female singers really. And you keep showing me lovey dovey songs.....I like songs about crazy. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] I don't mean to sound like a jackass....
......Yeah, monotone is pretty hard to sing.
She doesn't sing monotone? And most old songs practically promoted drugs.

I doubt you will find this any more attractive, but here's a male vocaloid singing a song that's not lovey-dovey. (It also happens to be pretty NSFW and will probably do nothing to help against Xolo saying vocaloid is porn but w/e) Skip to 0:25
She doesn't sing monotone? And most old songs practically promoted drugs.
Small joke.
IGNORE THE BEGINNING thats the only decent Male Vocaloid I have seen. 1:52 through 2:05 proves vocaloids can sing in English :D
thats the only decent Male Vocaloid I have seen.
I hope you mean the video I posted because that's a human covering JBF. In other news someone really ought to make a vocaloid megathread so we can take the discussion there.
how's this hologram work
They use a special plastic-like wall that is used to display the video played from behind.
I see this as no different than seeing a Gorillaz concert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-AhYnjKEzs
[img_thumb]http://www.clashmusic.com/files/imagecache/node_article_image/files/clash-magazine-issue-59-cover_0.jpg[/img_thumb] :wtc:
That was a picture they posted on a rag (forgot the word) and is not even close to what Hatsune miku really is, or vocaloid for that matter.

EDIT: That is the original look. That is why. It is the same with Hachune.
Why cant you make it?
Last time I made a megathread it crashed and burned and I don't want to relive the horrors :(
I personally find the instrumental sections of the music great, but the voice is just so artificial, it makes me want to rip my ears out.
I see this as no different than seeing a Gorillaz concert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-AhYnjKEzs
First thing I thought of when I saw this is that the gorrilaz should use this. thanks for showing
I personally find the instrumental sections of the music great, but the voice is just so artificial, it makes me want to rip my ears out.
The voices are getting better and better. In some I cant tell if it is a program. ON THE OTHER HAND, yes, they tend to be so, and I like it. Got its own special charm.
I personally find the instrumental sections of the music great, but the voice is just so artificial, it makes me want to rip my ears out.
Thank you for the constructive criticism. I actually think that the artificial sound sounds good. It's different then all the songs I have ever heard. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] On itunes you can buy a album with over 100 vocaloid songs for the low low price of 104.99$!
I see this as no different than seeing a Gorillaz concert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-AhYnjKEzs
Was waiting for someone to post that.
This thread is making productive progress :D
So when can I get my own 3d hologram projector? Imagine what it could do to gaming.

Some vocaloid is bad, some of it is awesome. I like Vocaloids in general though.
It's funny because this won't be the last time you hear of the vocaloids. They are preparing a English Version for Miku and possibly more vocaloids soon. i just hope None of the Music artists in the US Catch on to this vocaloid shit and ruin it Here's some good musik
They already have bro. Anyway if Ronald Jeenkens caught onto it, his music would be fucking amazing AND visually stunning.
When I hear her voice, I hear every autotuned mainstream faggot grinding their terrible vocals into my ear, that is why I hate it, it sounds like autotuning minus English vocals.
Their artificial sounds plus the Japanese lyrics sound really interesting to me. We have no accents in Southern California. And no "So like.... oh my god becky" we do not speak like that. I get that a lot. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] This is a excellent example of great use of vocaloids. A majority of the time her voice sounds natural other then the occasional high pitch words.
The voices are getting better and better. In some I cant tell if it is a program.
You mean like this one? This seriously mindfucked me the first time I heard it. Gumi can be stunningly realistic.
