Unless they fixed it, the lag you experience in wasteland etc is actually serverside. The longer the server runs the worse the lag is. This is just how the game works (for now); supposedly it will be fixed at some stage. Go find a deathmatch server that has been running more than 12 hours straight and you will probably get no more than 5 FPS.
Stratis Life is the absolute worst for that, they have to restart the server every few hours to cure the lag.
Stratis Life is the absolute worst for that, they have to restart the server every few hours to cure the lag.
It has the effect of making the ARMA 2 roleplay mods much more fun because everything you do is gone in 12 hours time; no one can just stockpile trillions of dollars and have access to it all the time. But yeah, the server stability is atrocious. If you look on the ARMA 3 bugtracker I believe the biggest unclosed ticket is for performance issues related to the server performance, so I'm sure it is something they're working on.
What if I told you guys changing the settings around doesn't actually increase framerate?
What if i told you it does and the reason it caps your framerate is because of servers being the bottleneck and not your client.
i love the beta, i can tell that the game is gradually improving performance wise. tip for those who dont know: disabling vsync give you ~10fps
will arma 3 run at all on a 5770? I have a decent CPU.
