Although nintendo seems to be constantly behind a generation and they really need to step it up an extra notch next time if they don't want their console to be shovelware and shitty port central.

Outside of first party games I mean.
My expectations for it were pretty high, I expected this to be a good console. But it obviously runs current generation games worse than the actual current generation consoles, and can't even handle its own fucking menu, which is absolutely horrible because it's supposed to be next gen. And the controller screen is a good gimmick, but a gimmick nonetheless.
The menu loading times are unforgivable, but as for the graphics, it's still only launch. Developers will need time to push the console to it's limits to get the best possible outcomes.
It's not fair to judge a console's graphical capabilities at launch. For example, compare CoD2's graphics to Black Ops 2's.

Nice, judging performance of a new system with 3rd party ports, and a slow OS which can be and already has been addressed.
Give the system time, the OS will improve with updates and gimmick or not, the Wii U's gamepad has some good potential.
Wii U is fucking awesome, might not be next gen graphics but still.
Getting the console because of these games:
- New Super Smash
- ZombiU
- New Zelda
- Zelda remake
- Pikmin 3
- LEGO Undercover (aka GTA in LEGO style)
- Its a Wii as well because it can play every Wii game.
- CoD BLOPS 2 for its local Zombie mode
These are enough reasons for me to get the new Wii U

Also nintedoland for its local co op, shits awesome
Monster hunter is the single game that sold the WiiU for me.

The thing about Nintendo consoles is that they doesn't really "fit" into the console market along with the Xbox and the Playstation, since those are quite similar and it's easy to port games between them, therefore you've got a library of titles they share plus their exclusives. With the Wii U, games are either good first or second party exclusives (Nintendo Land) or crappy ports that the devs don't even bother doing anything interesting for the GamePad with (Arkham City). So it's pretty much all about exclusives.
It won't stand up against the new generation, but it will be an interesting thing to buy with a new-gen console if all those upcoming exclusive titles like the new Smash Bros turn out to be all people are expecting them to be and more.
The thing that people don't understand is that almost every console starts off with a bad start then grows to be bad or good. This is Nintendo we are talking about I doubt they will give up on this thing.
You all just need to be patient
The Wii U also got a decent amount of launch titles compared to other launches, but I'll get mine when Bayonetta 2 and Monster Hunter gets released.
