I LARP'ed until about 3 years ago. As long as you have loads of self-irony (especially if you're using public transport) and don't take it too seriously, it can be a lot of fun. There's a lot of really nice people, some really awkward people (think OP's video) and then there's the autists.

Overall I'd consider starting again, since I won't be that busy next year.
