I really didn't like it for some reason. The universe was very incomplete ("Okay, so human reproduction has stopped. ONLY IT HASN'T!" Dun dun dunnnn, no explanation), it had very little variety, and the acting was mediocre.
An interesting idea, but not very well executed.
Easily the best filmed scene in movie history, IMO, and I've seen a fuck of a lot of movies.

except transformers is all explosions, allowing leeway for either side of the argument
this had compelling storyline and amazing action
your comparison doesn't work
Great movie - really beautifully shot, and I enjoyed the book even more. I liked that atmosphere of a long, solemn voyage (more prominent in the book). Similar theme in "Y tu mamá también" (another excellent movie from the same director).

That is a horrible cover
But there's lots of sex
I consider this one of the best movies I've ever seen. Not my favorite, but definitely one of the best.

ok. On the other end of the spectrum. Primer. A movie that has ABSOLUTELY NO action. Only two guy talking for the whole movie. Some can argue that it is boring for obvious reasons. While others can argue that it was a very good movie. (I myself enjoyed it from start to finish)
How about the middle. Fight club (which im pretty sure most of us can agree is pretty awesome) Boring: quite a bit of talking, some action. Awesome: good action scenes, good acting, great story.
Yes Man, Boring: Jim Carey running around getting involved in his usual shenanigans. Good: Good humor, well executed.
Snatch, (which im pretty sure most of us can agree is pretty awesome also) Boring: Alot of talking, little action. Good: Good story, great humor, good acting, great writing.
This can be done with any movie in existence.
Yep.
Anyone notice how many dogs/cats there are in this movie? Almost like they were being used as replacements for children.

Damn good movie. Deserves more respect then it does. Though I thought the ending was pretty dumb though.
Michael Caine listening to Aphex Twin while smoking a doobie is classic.

Eh if the dialogue is good talking can be a great point. Depends on the writing.

And how all the animals sympathise with Theo? The kitten crawling up his leg, the cat sleeping next to him at Jasper's, the dogs at the farm not barking at him etc. Like he's the saviour and they know it.

There is at least one animal in every scene. Mostly dogs.
This movie made me cry. :(
