Plus TF2 has... this [t]http://i.imgur.com/2dxoxnR.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/XmZJYt5.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/O7i0Zgu.png[/t]
but those 'things' fucking suck [editline]8th November 2014[/editline] maybe that's what you meant
God damn that sniper looks fucking retarded I can already imagine myself getting annoyed at that character already like everyone is fighting with each other up in each others face and suddenly you get picked off by some shit halfway from across the map, and you hear one of her "pssh nothing personnel kid" catchphrases echo throughout the map uurrghhh
I dunno, it'd be fine if they did it in a humorous way, but they seem to be playing everything completely straight. Which sucks because none of the characters seem to have any personality with the cast being uninteresting everywhere. The only one who seems to be even the least bit interesting is the giant talking ape, but all I can think of is Good Guy Gorilla Grodd
I don't know why, but I find the simple pixar styled characters really charming. And the abilities are fucking over the top, like holy shit Hanzo's through the wall aoe looks ridiculous. In fact, every character has ridiculous over the top abilities, which is either a terrible design choice or an incredibly great way to make a complex team shooter.
I fucking HATE it when Americans try to do cockney accents. that teleporting chick makes me want to hit things.
It's like when people try and do a shitty Michael Caine impression. Hell the little kid at the beginning did a better cockney accent.
How does Reaper even work? Does his ulti instakill everyone around him?
I have a feeling the trailer is going to be the best part of this game. That trailer was pretty great though.
How does Reaper even work? Does his ulti instakill everyone around him?
I feel like that ultimate gives the reaper a type of aimbot ish Aoe and the downside is your moving at a snails pace
How does Reaper even work? Does his ulti instakill everyone around him?
Almost looks like most things in this game instakills.
jesus christ the fake asian accent on hanzo with all the edgy mysterious catchphrases pisses me off
I kinda would have liked it if he still had all those edgy mysterious catchphrases but then adds some humorous twist, like Sifu Kwok in Sleeping Dogs.
All men must lose sometimes, but not to American tourists!

You hit with the strength of a porn addict.

Graceful, like yak!

Your ancestors called, they'd like to disown you.
I guess it's a bit too early to judge but I wish these characters will have a lot of spunk and characterization that the TF2 crew does. Too many of them seem to take themselves too seriously.
Almost looks like most things in this game instakills.
I doubt everything is designed to instakill players, it's more based around showing off as many of the characters and their features as possible while not lingering on one too long for the sake of runtime and a smooth transition. I don't doubt that balance is still being worked on as well. For example, take the first TF2 teaser that came out, showing off the Heavy taking out a whole fistful of somewhat beefy characters in terms of health in a few seconds. Not quite accurate, eh? (0:55 for the Heavy bit)
Don't most characters have a way of quickly moving or a shield anyway? Maybe his ult would be easy to escape or avoid as long as one is aware in a fight. Though it does seem kinda unpredictable if he just blinks in and Ults.
The thing that bothers me is how apparently powerful every character's special ability is. I have a feeling it's going to play like rock-paper-scissors, with the 'ultimates' being all that matter. Oh, Bastion sieged on the flag guys, we can't get it. Hanzo, you use your dragon arrow bullshit to mary sue him off the flag. Oh, but Winston berserked and drove us off the flag. Edgy guy, we need you to do your aimbot thing. Oh, but (...) etc. and all anyone's doing is pushing buttons. Also not digging how so many characters have landmines. You'll probably find a landmine around every corner. That shit will get old. On a side-note, you can really tell this is a modern Blizzard game. About half of the classes are the 'newbie-friendly' sort.
Looks more fun than TF2. Mainly because its more over the top abilities, feels like they crossed CoD Advanced Warfare's or UT's(extreme UT vibe in this) futuristic theme and thingamajigs and inserted it on TF2. Theres a bit too much TF2 in this, the medic looks like an exact copy in terms of abilities. And I'm sensing that this will need a lot of balancing done. Some abilities in there seem extremely powerful, but as mentioned, it might look that way for the sake of just showing it off. There also seems to be a bit more diversity in this, and actually, I'm digging the over the top abilities. The Tracer character sounds pretty awesome. It still looks more fun, but that might just be me.

If you bust a gut trying to put something in a negative light to yourself, don't complain when it seems that way. In a team-based shooter with classes, yes, sometimes rock-paper-scissors or whatever the fuck you'd like to call it will come into play depending on how you play and what you're playing. If you play a guy that's good at long-range combat, you're probably going to be smacked the fuck up when the class that's based around mobility and closing distances finds you. If you're playing a medic, expect to be dealt with easily if you're caught out or on your own.
the characters arent as appealing as tf2 but the movement seems a lot faster and i really want that. tf2 is so fucking sluggish. hope it turns out to be fun

Things like careful movement and aim are more fun than this luck-of-the-draw shit. If all you're doing is moving vaguely toward or away from your enemies and pressing your ultimate at opportune moments there's no depth to it. It's designed so everyone can have a chance to kill someone even if they're not actually good at the game. This won't matter to Blizzard's target audience, which is the casual crowd. They're securely in that market now with games like Hearthstone and HotS. I don't blame them, it makes more money, but I don't think that this game will be fun long-term for people who've played more video games than the occasional weekend-match of Angry Birds. Seriously, look at the characters. Basically every one has some auto-aim, a turret, a giant AOE, or something else you'd have to be braindead to not be able to use to its full effectiveness.
Already signed up for the beta.

However, we haven't really seen the gameplay elaborated on. There could be a criteria to meet to use those abilities that seem so overpowered at a glance, or some form of limitation that prevents them from being used at a time where it's unfairly detrimental to a player's enjoyment of the game. I don't think we should be holding torches to the pyre until we find out more about what kind of road it's going down - seems like there's a few ways this could end. Regarding Winston's shield, though - after watching the gameplay teaser again, when he tossed it over the point and got shot at a few times, it went down fairly significantly. I don't think it's going to hold up very well at all against sustained fire.

Plus, hardcore games like that mix in competition, and that always brings bad seeds who go apeshit on you if you don't do things completely right.
I don't understand why people are OK with TF2's model but hate LoL's model. Seriously, just take the basic idea of TF2's model, replace "weapons" with "champions", add runes (which CANNOT be bought with real money), and you have LoL's model. I don't get what's so awful about it.
Um no, not really. You can get any weapon you want for 2 random weapons on a trading server, which takes less than an hour
Honestly I don't see it ever being as popular as TF2. It seems like it only understands why TF2 was good on a very small level, but failed to understand the fine tuning that went underneath. For example, different classes with on both teams with non-distinct silhouettes is going to be a bitch if you want to recognize anybody, and the environments are a clusterfuck. They look nice, but when you try to differentiate an enemy from the level design, it's going to get problematic. Not saying I don't want it to go well, but it seems like a spiteful effort.
The game isn't even remotely looking like it's trying to be TF2 people are pulling this out of their asses because it looks cartooney and it's kind of sad you can't look at a product beyond its surface really

I just watched the entire gameplay video. My god each character quote made me cringe.
Tracer used 2 more blinks at the end of the cinematic trailer, than she can actually do. Unrealistic bullshit 0/10
I just watched the entire gameplay video. My god each character quote made me cringe.
The reaper fits him well, after all, he does need a sharp edge to reap souls... (despite using guns here) They are too forced, trying too hard and unnatural. The ones in TF2 for example aren't cringey because they are extremely simple, and when they aren't they just sound funny due to each character having a different personality. In here, it seems like they either have personalities that are a copy paste of each other with different guns stappled to them, or they are just stereotypical of the theme the character has going for itself.
People complain about tf2 but if I turn a corner in that game and see a demoman or a soldier I immediately know what kind of fight it's going to be. If I turn a corner in this I'll walk into a wall of particle effects and everyone will fly/grapple hook into the sky.
It looks like a mixture of TF2's gameplay style (teamwork and capture the points), most MOBAs (in terms of diverse characters), and that upcoming Gearbox game (aesthetics and future setting). I really hope it's not fucking F2P. and the movie actually looks like a near-rival to Hollywood films. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing a web-series.
I don't mind F2P as long as it's not P2W - eg. PoE or Dota 2. Zero ingame advantages for cash, only cosmetics. No exception.
it's literally fucking tf2.
gee wow i never knew class based shooter + cartoony art style = automatically copying from tf2
Reaper (both the name and his weapon choice) seem like they were directly inspired by Persona 3's reaper. add on the fact that they're both OP as fuck.
