I think we can agree on this tho, the game is definitely trying to compete with TF2. [sp]Which means its probably going to be F2P at some point, just like Heroes of the Storm.[/sp]
Blizzard doesn't give a fuck about Team Fortress 2. There's no reason to compete with TF2 since it's been dying in popularity the last two or even three years and, you know, it's a 7 year old game.
yes and my uncle works for nintendo
it's funny because if it were somebody else I'd probably say the same thing out but I'm actually not lying. I go to school at Lagun College of Art it's pretty dope they have a lot of inudstry artists doing classes there. Right now for fundamentals of 3Dmax Yongha Hwang who works as a 3D environment artist for the Blizzard cinematics is teaching it. He wasn't able to show us the game until they had the Blizzcon demo for obvious reasons.

Numbers haven't been this high since August 2012.

To me this sounds like what they made out Titan.

Is the kid with the hoodie in the trailer going to be a future playable character? The way that chick with the teleporter said "world could use use more heroes" makes me think he might. Anyway asian hawkeye looks p cool.
I think he exists solely for the trailer. "The world could always use more heroes" is the game's marketing tagline.
The minigun sound and Pharah's death sound at 1:33 sounds exactly like the UT minigun and female pain/death sounds.
The only similarity is the cartoony artstyle, and even then Blizzard has done it longer than valve :v: [editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
Nah it's basically TF2 with less recognizable characters. [editline]9th November 2014[/editline]
There were halloween events in 2012 and 2013 sooo...
And then popularity died after all of them?
This game doesn't look anything like TF2 are you guys blind?

It's good to see TF2 get some competition gameplay wise. The characters don't seem to measure up unfortunately. They all seem to take themselves so seriously when they are all such silly characters. Ironically, in this sense, I feel that Reaper is one of the better characters. He's dedicated to his edginess. He's like some comic book villain. I'll keep an eye on it though. May be better actually playing the game and if the gameplay is good I'll probably play it regardless.
And then popularity died after all of them?
http://steamcharts.com/app/440 Literally only going up.

I really dont think there is anything that can deny it, just like how Heroes of the Storm wants to compete with Dota 2 and League of Legends by becoming F2P. And Im willing to bet Overwatch will be F2P too.
4:25 in the gameplay preview, they named the restaurant "RIKIMARU". Cute reference.

And I bet it will be F2P, but not for the purpose of competition. The F2P model just works really well with the idea of a MOBA-style hero system.

I have never seen any animosity between Valve and Blizzard until a few legal issues with Dota 2 which were bound to arrive since Valve aimed to keep the character's visuals and stories similar. Games aren't made in a few months. You could see the beginnings of a moba craze starting before Dota 2 came out, and boom you've got HoTS in anticipation for the market. You can also see a new budding interest in virtual card games and boom you've got Blizzard moving away from their physical stuff to digital Hearthstone. I believed that Overwatch was what Blizzard scrounged up from Titan, and after seeing some articles about it I think I'm right. " Right in with Overwatch's story, except it's a robot uprising instead. "Players would be able to select from classes with names like Reaper, Jumper, Titan, Ranger, and Juggernaut, each of which had its own special combat abilities and items, according to a source. Jumpers, for example, would be agile scouts with a teleport ability and the ability to quickly leap in and out of combat." Yep it's adding up. "All of the people who described the game to me made a lot of Team Fortress comparisons both in terms of aesthetics and gameplay. Three people who saw the game have compared the aesthetics to Team Fortress 2, with one source describing it as a cross between StarCraft II's in-game cinematics and Pixar's The Incredibles. " Yeah thats it. To me it sounds like they had a story and artstyle down for quite some time, but they decided to scrap the MMO aspect because there isn't a market for it anymore.

They have brand recognition, which would have blown LoL out of the water.

Always breaks my heart to hear about a game that got fairly far in development getting canned, especially because I fear all the time the artists put into the assets going to waste. I would like to see Human Head be able to pull off a similar feat with the content they made for Prey 2.
I'm not really upset about Titan, didn't sound like they really had any good ideas for it.
i think it looks fun but the characters lines/accents are fucking atrocious
