Dark Souls is complete bullshit for the first few hours, but eventually something just clicks and you realise that the clunky, shitty controls are actually incredibly good, and that while it's incredibly hard, the game design is also incredibly tight.

The main rule to Dark souls is if you can dodge, dodge. Then if you can block, block. Having crazy amount of health is just a margin for errors. I'm playing a thief parry build. Let me tell you about god damn difficulty :V:
He's not even the hardest boss what the hell.
Artorias is the fairest fight in my opinion, he's challenging, but you really should have enough experience to beat him.
Remind me, how long does it take to get "decent" weapons and armor?
As soon as you reach the blacksmith and make a lightning halberd but I didn't have truly good armor until smough
Artorias is the fairest fight in my opinion, he's challenging, but you really should have enough experience to beat him.
Yeah, you can't just sit still and tank him. You HAVE TO dodge, block etc. because he is fast and heavy. I guess that was the problem with the cheater-guy. Also when I found out you can actually stop him from powering up, he was relatively easy.
I had to start a new character at new game+7(my buddy and I bought it when it first came out because we loved demons souls). 4 kings was literally hell and it would take about an hour to beat them.
One time in the entire game does the game kill you without warning and with no alternative. One time. There are no "instakill" moments, they give you warning everywhere for everything, and even other players can warn you.
And you can actually walk back through the fog and leave if you want to. Although the game has trained you that it's impossible up to that point so I'm not sure how redeeming that is.
I finally beat the game, (not the DLC) but the main game
