Why do we need more languages? I mean seriously if we can help it, it would be better to have less
Why do we need more languages? I mean seriously if we can help it, it would be better to have less
It's actually a hobby, but yes, less would be better, but if it has to be chosen, a conlang would be good because of simplified grammar and vocabulary.
I want to start making a language, but I have no idea where to start. Someone should make a guide or something to doing it, or at least a few guidelines or something.
It has to have a consistent grammar, pronunciation, an alphabet, and a number system. There are probably a whole lot more things to consider, but those are some of the basic things to consider.

fuck dick shit butt
When i was about 10 years old me and my friend worked on our own languange. We didnt have any really structure and would randomly come up with a new word. Often the words was something the other person misheard. Maybe would become beeby and such. If i remember correctly i think that ''Ye citisan choklart'' meant you are an idiot....

QK, a ayy? <s es-ss> ng ne sme lang a/ e "English". E ess- sme-r a il. [s je-s] ne sav What, Hello? This isn't of the same language to/as the(masculine) English. It seems to be similar. I don't know.
I've been working on a language of my own devising for quite a while now. Most recent thing I devised was a fairly complex system for identifying relations. So "father" is then, than or thin, depending on the reference point. I, a male, would call my father "then", but I'd refer to a generic father as a "thin", and my hypothetical girlfriend's father as a "than". Then, since my language uses what I call the "objective" form of each pronoun as a modifying suffix, "my father" is "thení". "My sons" would be "bání"; "our daughters" (presuming "our" includes two people not of the same gender), "síní", et cetera ad nauseam. Even decided that the second-person informal forms almost always prohibit the use of these terms and insists on actually naming people, so if I have a son called Daníl and my friend Émí (female, on friendly terms) also has a son called Dánil, then if I say "Dánil" it's assumed I'm talking about her son, and to refer to "my" Daníl I have to say "Dánil bení" (or just "bení" if he's my only son). I actually wrote all this down whilst procrastinating, which was an amusing afternoon or two. At least I came up with what I thought was a lovely expression... "láhíní léqínqý", meaning something like "my [extended] family" - the descendants of my ancestors (before-parents-my after-children-their). Also, for some ridiculous reason I decided all numbers end in "-á", all verbs end in "-í" or "-ý", and all past participles end in "-ó". I'm either masochistic or far too obsessed with order in my language. Thank goodness I didn't base it on Esperanto. --- I think it's a worthwhile endeavour making your own language, but it really helps to think about how it might actually be used (had it developed naturally). For instance, your complicated standard greeting, "né yí-aita", how might it be shortened in familiar speech? (In this case, a simple abbreviation: "nya!".) Also, think about what utilities your language has. What tenses does it have, and how does it use them? Are certain tenses/moods/voices/aspects only used in some registers? Does this synonym sound really formal, but this one really vulgar? (Whoah, that turned into a text wall. Oops.)
