Even with the bullet shattering I am still willing to bet it would have gotten through if the case was being held in place.[/QUOTE] No, I'm pretty sure SAPI plates are much more reliable than kevlar. Most LEO and the entirety of the US Military uses plate carriers with SAPI inserts exclusively and they've been proven to stop rounds.
