• Hitman Absolution Gameplay

Ugh this is the problem I have with the current movement of mainstream games Graphics are improving, but core gameplay concepts are becoming "streamlined" or "intuitive" which is really now a codeword for dumbed down and annoyingly obvious. While I wasn't a big fan of either, I respected the original Hitman and Splinter Cell series because they were well put together, intelligent games with substance. Conviction was a fun game (at least for a few hours, I got bored very quickly - another problem) in it's own right, but compared to Chaos Theory it felt like a fucking Michael Bay film trying to hold a candle to a Nolan film or some shit.
I hope they just showed small sections of the game where you had to escape from a hit mission. I REALLY AM HOPING
I think the reason people are naturally worried is we've been let down so much in the last few years that the charade is starting to wear off.
Adding different game mechanics doesn't make a game worse than it's predecessor, I'm sure there'll still be ways to disguise yourself and blend, or if you choose you could just sneak around and kill your target. They're just adding more options for you, it's not a bad thing.
Yeah if developers had infinite budget and dev time. We've been through this so many times with so many other games, they say they "make it for a wider audience while keeping the core fanbase in mind" but it ends up dumbing down the whole thing.
Did you guys forget that it was basically Bateson who announced this game? Like almost a year ago.
I miss this guy [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] Is he even a hitman any more?
I hear in the first mission you assassinate the franchise
Core Hitman mechanics (THAT YOU SHOULD NOT, I REPEAT, NOT EVER FUCK WITH): -Disguise as any adult male in the vicinity -Leave the thinking to the player, don't make important things shiny/obvious. -Barely any in game scripting or hand holding. -Make shootouts very, very undesirable. And that's pretty much how to make a good hitman.
Well, none of that really happened, they did show shooting in the trailer, but that's it. Maybe they wanted to appeal to the fans by making a really awesome trailer, but forgot that shooting is not what hitman fans want.
it looks just like a hitman game

Hitman better be about being a hitman, not killing everyone in the whole facility. I really like the sticky cover, hiding in Blood Money was a bitch.
They better keep the rating system. Silent Assassin 4 lyfe

Looks a lot like splinter cell..
Looks a lot like splinter cell..
Just shut up about that, its not.
Looks a lot like splinter cell..
It actually reminds me more of Manhunt without all the gore and stuff like that
It actually reminds me more of Manhunt without all the gore and stuff like that
I liked manhunt.
I liked the fact that when 47 took the guard hostage, the other guards didn't decide to kill their buddy while trying to shoot 47. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
I liked manhunt.
Manhunt was a pretty good game.
Can everyone just stop saying its conviction :colbert: The game is FAR from releasing. And just seeing someone grabbing a cop and hiding behind some shit automatically makes it Splinter Cell? Don't think so.. This is just like comparing any MMO with WoW
This worries me.
The graphics look nice.
Looks pretty linear to me. There was a reason why previous Hitman games had a map thingy, it's because you had to actually plan where you wanted to go. Now look at what they did, removing the map screen, this can only mean that all the paths are now bloody obvious. " Oh noes, do I choose the stealth path to finish this mission without any kills, the psycho path by killing everyone, or the hitman:absolution(tm) path using fancy-hitman-instinct-kill-moves(tm) ?? "
I have no doubts about it, and this is just a small part of gameplay Serious you guys are judging way to fast
Well most of the time when first gameplay footage of a game that has a big fan following is released it showcases gameplay that will a main part of the game.

I don't know man, I just don't know =(
I don't know man, I just don't know =(
We don't. Because all we've seen is seconds of one mission.
[release] - The original soundtrack for the game is composed by Peter Kyed and Peter Peter. [/release]
Why no Jesper Kyd?
I still have high hopes for this game, it's just one minor jump cut gameplay, undoubtfully made nice and more 'cool' to make people get interested.
