No but see, they tell you how much your family loved you, they'll probably even reference things you did with them! Isn't that enough?
Fuck, I know they're going to do exactly this especially after how hard they tried to push that Shepard felt really bad about that kid that dies at the beginning of ME3 and they expected us to give a shit about some unnamed little shit playing with a toy in a sandbox right outside of a military tribunal

It looks pretty and thats just about it for me.
Also whats with that scene they showed before you can see in a clip in this one? There like 3 humanoids in like full body armor with helmets on, masks down, and a fucking asari wearing half a bedsheet with her midriff showing. It just gets my goat.
I can't get behind the direction they are going with this reveal trailer.
I agree that going to a new galaxy and trying to fit in could make on it's own the entire new trilogy. Yet we are going to fight some big bad except WE ARE THE ALIENS!!!!!!!
I'm also cautiously optimistic for this. I liked (not loved, liked) Dragon Age Inquisition and all of Mass Effect 3 except the last 10 minutes. Recent games like DOOM and Titanfall 2 have been pleasant surprises as good games when lots of folks assumed the opposite, so that further reinforces my guarded optimism that maybe this trailer isn't indicative of the game.
I get why people are jaded and cynical towards Bioware, and it's entirely justified. But I'm willing to give this game a shot. Maybe Bioware learned their lesson. Course, I could be wrong too. We'll see.
Is it just me or is some of the animations in that trailer are choppy and have low framerate?
Mass Effect 3 was so good.

Satirical video but no, the ending wasn't the only bad thing about ME3.
What's up with people instantly figuring out that the plot consists of another "ancient evil that has been awoken" ? In the trailer Ryder even clearly states how they are the aliens, not them. It's probably just some dominant race that has "ruled" in Andromeda and you just happen to wander in on their party.
I mean really, did people honestly expect the whole game to be just about colonizing a peaceful galaxy without there being a huge threat. At least it looks like you won't be space jesus again.
"We're the aliens" was pretty good though. If humans/asari/turians/krogan are treated like an invasive species or some shit that might be interesting.
Welp, another evil ancient alien race story.
I guess we won't have a Star Trek type story hook we all hoped for.
"We're the aliens" was pretty good though. If humans/asari/turians/krogan are treated like an invasive species or some shit that might be interesting.
Krogans were an invasive species, hence the genophage.
I look forward to this.
At least the Asari isn't ass ugly anymore
so which one can i fuck
yes
I try so hard not to be a downer on this one, especially since Mass Effect is one of my favourite franchise, but I can't get myself to be optimistic about it. It's called 'Reveal trailer' and yet it didn't reveal much that we didn't already know.
trailers aren't for people who already know everything there is to know about the game

Sorry but why was Halo 4 bad? I get you hate the fact that they advertise that the didact was awakening but that can't be all?
That's the last of my hype gone
Sorry but why was Halo 4 bad? I get you hate the fact that they advertise that the didact was awakening but that can't be all?
What should I get into? How the Didact's motivations make no sense? How Humanity jumping from barely surviving to dominant super power is ridiculous and completely at odds with the series' themes prior? How the Promethean enemies are incredibly annoying AND boring at the same time? How the lore of the series was completely rewritten to make Humanity into special snowflakes? How the Chief was turned into the literal Chosen One? The QTEs out the asshole? The Spartan IVs being the bestest Spartans so far but with none of the moral shadiness of the ones which came before? The fact that they were so uncreative that they made 3 new enemy types and just had us fight the fucking Covenant again.
Or what about the end where Cortana turns into a bridge and makes multiple clones of herself to drag the Didact into a portal.

Fuck Halo 4.
It's complete garbage from end to end.
so it's ancient evil this time but organic ?

Just to add onto that Cortana turns into a bridge and kills herself :v:
1:12 oh hey its the alpha ceph from crysis 3
There was a big dump of info on the neogaf forums. If this is true and if they stick to their guns I'm cautiously optimistic.
Events at the start of the game occur that pass this role down to you, you are untested and unproven, unlike Commander Shepard of the previous trilogy
Dad is killed by ancient evil. Player character has to choose between revenge and doing what is best for humans
-There are more relationships in the game than any other Bioware game (as they noted fans make a big emphasis on romance in the games)
Oh boy, more awkward sex scenes
-Emphasis that relationships don't just culminate in a sex scene
pff sure
I'm so ready.
No romance options please, after playing Dragon Age 2 I just lost interest.
Would rather have a ragtag crew of aliens to explore the galaxy with.
Yeah I agree. This just looks fucking awful. What's the point of going to a whole new galaxy if you're just gonna rehash the ME1 Reaper/Saren plot again. And they're apparently removing classes? Is this even a roleplaying game anymore? What's next, are they gonna only let you use 1 gun so you don't have to waste precious brainpower figuring out which generic alien assault rifle to use? "Hurr durr, classes r hard, just let da player pick everyfing!!!"
They're probably going for what Kingdoms of Amalur, Dark Souls, and Shadowrun do and that works really well in those games because if you don't specialize and try to do everything, you're going to be weak as fuck but it allows a lot of flexibility and customization to suit the player's playstyle instead of forcing the player to play the way the devs allow them
You were really limited in the previous games. I guess in this one you can build an infiltrator that uses shotguns instead of sniper rifles so you can get up close without them noticing and unload on them or play as a midrange type that can use overload and warp to support the squad and still be able to deal damage
as much as I hated a lot of ME3, the combat was improved and letting you use any weapon regardless of class was a good improvement. Doing away with classes and just putting points into different stats is a step in the right direction.
I wonder if they'll have improved melee abilities. Shadowrun is also a cover based game but you had several different ways to build melee characters and it works really well. The only problem is that your turn would end with you in a flanked position.
