• Multiplayer in Skyrim?
I got no high hopes for it. Just Cause 2 had a multiplayer mod that looked pretty much done with no lag, but it was abonded and no one looked back at it However Skyrim is a huge game so if you manage to make a decent multiplayer then.. Then i promise i will donate 250 euro to the man/team who made the mod
That was all seamless loading though. The main problem with this is the way it treats cities and interior cells. Not to mention the amount of balancing it would require and tweaking of systems.
When you consider that the creation kit isn't even out yet, this is pretty amazing. Lots of potential
anyone else having problem pressing the youtube videos in this thread?
theyre all mingebags lol
I don't even want to know why they have underwear on.
I don't even want to know why they have underwear on.
Probably because this is a very alpha build and it's just showing that it can be done, and hopefully will be done by a team of competent modders.
Oh god, all this before the dev kit even comes out? When that dev kit gets released, this game is going to be propelled faaaaaaaaaaar. Hello completely new game.
I can't imagine MP Skyrim being a very friendly place. In fact I'd imagine it would consist of large bands of roaming players that move through the world like locusts and kill anyone and anything they find. [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] I'll probably be one of those horribly violent people that just roam and cause as much destruction as possible (if they keep public servers).
it will never work properly and everyone will quit working on it. don't get your hopes up
If the developers accepted donations (i don't know if they alredy do), i bet that would make a big plus.
Unless paying them actually makes it better and more functional then I seriously doubt it. Accepting donations while working on something like this that is highly likely to go nowhere is a bad decision and will make a lot of people angry if it's not working to a high standard.
I can already see guys using "Call storm" all the time.. Now i think of it Call Storm should be limited to the surround of that character right? Otherwise people keep spamming that and you got a freaking weather storm everywhere
I wouldn't want entire servers, just co-op. Still, hope it works.
it will never work properly and everyone will quit working on it. don't get your hopes up
man i wish i could have the positive outlook on things that you do
Here's how it should do it. Instead of making it into an MMO type game, make it into a coop with two or three people and all people have to agree to change rooms or cells.
Join someone else's game, Kill his quest NPC, Leave..........you know it's going to happen.
This would also allow actors for machinimas
Interesting. Tell me when the game leaves the homoerotic fantasy stage.
Oh god, think of seeing 3 players using Unrelenting force,Fire breath, and Frost breath all at the same time on a dragon.
I hope they'll work on small, 2 players private sessions, it has to be easier right?
Making Skyrim a MMO isn't really what I was hoping for, but I guess it's a start. Hope you can limit it to 2 player game if you want to coop with a friend.
I don't really think they're necessarily aiming for a Skyrim MMO, there just happens to be a lot of players in the server.
I don't really think they're necessarily aiming for a Skyrim MMO, there just happens to be a lot of players in the server.
Maybe not necessarily, but it's pretty funny that they first show footage of a server that has +30 people playing rather than 2 players locally like they did in Oblivion. Of course it's a different game from Oblivion and it seems that it's easier to implement some network functions to it than it was to Oblivion. Wonder how many people they can stuff into one server and keep it stable?
This ruins the game for me :(

Make it so it can Synch players and items together to each other and allow modders to modify it easily so people can make their own game modes and MP mods
I'm interested to see how exactly this will work; if it ever does get off the ground, how exactly is the world going to behave? Does everyone see the same thing or their own thing? If I kill an NPC or an entire town, does everyone else see this also? Probably best if they stick to a coop focus as of now, a MMO style approach is gonna be a wee bit to difficult to introduce.
Why? You don't have to download it.
He have to. Otherwise, he will feel left out and sit in the corner and cry. So therefore the game is ruined.
the oblivion mp mod was a piece of shit glad to see this has a lot more progress than that did.
