There is a group of kids at my highschool who still dress up in furry stuff and wear naruto headbands. Some of them are seniors and they're pathetic, and most of them are fat.

the way i see it.
Pokemon did something new, the rest of the industry quickly copied and fucked it up. later they swapped pokeballs for cards and everyone thought it was new.

same shit for Dragonball. they did something, shit copied.

these two are acceptable IMO because they were original and actually contained great stuff.

Lets all remember that anime did not create social rejects. These people would have been around anyway, probably attached to something else, like video games or real TV shows, people being absurdly obsessive is nothing new. Anime is just considered weird, and yet some of it is interesting, thus you get all these people drawn to it and then it just ends with weeaboos.
