Personally I think liking anime is fine, but when you start talking only in Japanese, use smileys like ^_^ 0.o -.-. change your Steam name into some Japanese name and join hundreds of anime groups, now that's just wrong.
In a class I had two years ago, we had to make a simple flash animation, well this one faggot decides to make a fighting scene with god damn [I][B]maple story[/B][/I] sprites complete with teleport inducing wooshing about, so yeah, lots of lame ass kids make those, fine. But then when the teacher asks him if he made the sprites he goes "SURE DID"
I wanted to punch him square in the jaw.

My friends dragged me out to a Japanese culture festival in my town. It was [B]not[/B] an anime convention, and obviously was trying to discourage any association with anime by having as little of it as possible (there was one small booth.) Regardless of the fact that the festival was clearly set up for traditional Japanese culture, many people showed up in cosplay. What's worse is that my friends didn't see anything wrong with it. :Dawkins102:

Dammit, I hate those people. There's this one person at I school I go to, and she is fucking obsessed with anime. In the time I got along with her (she lives down the street from me), her ringtone was that damned Lucky Star song, but I tolerated it. The breaking point was that EVERY time I was over, she always pretended she was some character from Naruto. It got to the point were I was extremely pissed over it, and just stopped visiting. I still see her at school, and she hates me for some odd reason or anothar. BTW she wants to go to Japan eventually.

There's this one girl I see every day on the way to my English class.
Eight out of ten times she's wearing this headband with small black ears (cat head band?). Most people refer to her by name, then "that one girl who wears that headband with ears".
She's cute but... She's in the anime club. Some of those people are tolerable, one girl who I find extremely pretty is in it, and I didn't know until she wore some costume for the club. So yeah, mixed opinions. If they feel the need to show their "love" for it constantly, they should be punched in the face.

Yes, I do have manga/anime loving friends who LARP and Cosplay, but thankfully they aren't obsessive. I like certain aspects of Japanese culture (or maybe, I just like it for Tokyo, and how futuristic is is, I don't know). But the thing is, I've never been fond of Anime. The only show that barely qualifies as an Anime that I watched was Pokemon, as a kid :3:
It's just so...obnoxious. There's even a deadbeat kid who acts all badass and crap who watches that shit :psyduck: I mean, anime is just so fucking OBNOXIOUS. It's fucking EVERYWHERE I go. And I seriously need to tell my friends that I will cunch them in the punt/balls if they ever use fucking anime smileys.
Also, Anime is starting to impair the way kids draw. I've seen far too many 12 year olds on SA draw anime like I did when I was in my 7 year old Pokemon phase.
Seriously. This shit really needs to end. Most of the people can't drawn humans in any other form than a deformed manga style.

Oh boy, I have a super cool story (more like a rage filled mess) for this thread.
I had a friend that invited me to an anime club once. I went for a few weeks. Those 2 hours every week....they were hell. The club members were some of the largest faggots you could ever find. The leader was this chubby girl that had a face resembling Nemesis from Resident Evil. The members, oh god the members. There was this kid who had a high-pitched nasal filled voice and all he did was play yugioh. Another was this fat mexican chick who could never speak below a yelling voice. The rest were a garden variety mix of socially awkward nerdy kids who made dolphin-like noises when something kawaii appeared on screen. As said before, I only went for a few weeks. The breaking point was at week 4. It was a normal meeting and everybody was yelling across the room as usual, but suddenly a voice spoke above the rest. "Look at the chalkboard", it commanded. I looked up to see a scribbled note on the blackboard. "You all just lost the game." A girl pointed at the message with a shit-eating grin on her face. It was almost impossible to suppress my rage. I knew they were all meme-spewing fuckwits, but this was too much. I never went back after that. Anime fans are cool, but weeaboos are really some of the worst people I've ever met.
