United Kingdom chat thread V3: We still miss our empire

I know local spiders are harmless, but I don't like them in my house because I don't like not knowing where everthing is. And that big one after that bad dream was an unwelcome surprise.
So last night I had a nightmare where there was a spiderweb in the corner of my room. I know I don't keep often, probably the impetus for this nightmare, but anyway. A big ol' cobweb, which I decide to do something about. I jab at it with a long brush (or broom?) and a big spider comes a calling to see what the fuss is about. A big booty spider with spindly long legs. Now, I'm not arachnaphobic but that's a nasty surprise. Not to mention that I saw black widow-esque markings on it. Anyway, it somehow realised where the disturbance was coming from, and the spider started creeping down and towards me, growing increasingly larger as my imagination played up the danger. I rather calmly left the room and tried to close the door but did so by trying to slam it from outside and the spider caught it. That was definitely a problem so I went downstairs and told my parents "I don't mean to alarm you, but there's a very dangerous spider in the house," and that's when I woke up.
Anyway, tonight I was getting ready for bed and I pick up my pyjama top and lo and behold there was a really big spider on it.
Luckily this one was only slightly larger than my thumb and no venomous. I swiftly shook out my top in the backgarden. I hate being a spider magnet sometimes.
Fucking hate them. I have a recurring nightmare where every surface in my house is coated in hundreds of different types of bugs and spiders, all different sizes and colours. Every I wake up from it I feel so disgusted and unsettled

Could be worse though, my dream before the spider one was I was attending some sort of sexual skills class and the lesson of the day was on analingus and I was for some reason determined to be the best at eating arse there was.
Woke up on a very wet pillow with my mouth all slobbery.
well you've got me beat there
Bought my first 5 pack of cadbury creme eggs this year. Already ate two.
Mistakes were made.

you have reminded me to buy creme eggs
i love u
It's no eggsageration to say that I've had a Creme Egg a day since as soon as they came out at the start of March (roughly). I fucking love Creme Eggs
They're awful after the Americans bought them. It's like they successfully removed the sweet taste they used to have but kept the sickness you got afterwards.
Like how do you even do that.

RIP Cadbury 1824-2014
I have had a Creme Egg in years
how the fuck did you end up in Plymouth lmao
Heading home today and I'll finally get to redecorate my room after 16 odd years.
Have you been kidnapped for 16 years
Went to a new barber today, after my old one increased prices.
New one uses a straight razor for the edges, then used a fire ball on a stick to burn away loose hairs. Would go again.
Day 56: I have made indirect contact with Plymouth's most unsavory denizens in the bus. God help me
Oh you poor thing...that's why I don't get the bus

I lost my room as soon as I moved out. I'm actually visiting my family at the moment as it happens, haven't seen them in about 6 months

I used to go to a Turkish barber's, they did the fire stick around the ears too. Did you get a hot towel?
My current barber doesn't do that but I can get a haircut and beard trim/shape for £15.
How old was the child? I always feel sorry for mums when a baby is grizzling and wailing in public, the mother feels flustered and feels everyone judging and watching her. I sat next to a mother and baby on a plane to Singapore and it was fairly good, it did do a bit of crying and I could hear someone complain about it, I just think rah its a baby man
If it is a tiny baby I can normally ignore it, that's what babies do. When it's an older child who probably shouldn't be crying I'm less sympathetic.
I went hiking and managed to drop my glasses into the bottom of a loch.
I don't have any contact lenses or a backup pair and I have -£10 in my bank account so I can't buy another set.
All in all though great trip, you guys should visit the Highlands if you haven't already.

My friend does IT support in the high school we used to attend and the attention he gets from the year 11 girls is sickening, they're a bunch of creeps. I can't imagine what it's like in a girls only high school.

That really sucks, I'd miss my room.I'll be living here over summer to do work and probably after uni for a bit until i can afford my own place.

I have this expierence whenever I need to go into university.
It's a literal plague cart on wheels with missing links thrown in for good measure. They wouldn't look out of place in the queue to join the Jeremy Kyle show.
This is the same bus my girlfriend told a kid to stop kicking the back of her chair and her whale of a mother (bonus points for the greasy complexion) started shouting at her for "telling my kid that").
Good thing the driver told her to fuck off after she tried picking a fight with the other passengers for agreeing with my girlfriend (about politely asking her idiotic kid to stop kicking the chair).

It's worse when the mother does little to nothing to stop them from misbehaving.
I waited at a bus stop recently, and this kid was repeatedly kicking the glass screen of the stop with his (clueless) mother behind him occasionally muttering "stop" and then going back to her phone.
He kept kicking it harder and harder, and she carried on her "stop" [back to phone] for a good few minutes until she looked over her shoulder, saw me standing there looking for the bus and used me as an excuse to stop him from kicking it for a few minutes ("Stop or that man will tell you off").
Listen here, I'm not a parental guide or a tool. Stop your little shit from kicking the screen and get off your fucking phone. Don't use me as an excuse so you can go back to shitposting on Instagram.
Got 48 (672g) of mini choco chip soft cookie thingys for £3.

It's alright, I'd say. Just a little bit weird because of how awkward kids can be, since I'm mostly used to working with adults, usually co-workers and the like. It can get real boring though if we don't have some big project like upgrading every Windows XP-era trashcan.
ah nice, hope you're finding this place decent (the rest of us hate it though haha)
have you done work in an enterprise environment previously, or is education your experience so far?
