I went to Costco recently for small things and I came back with a 1.5kg (!) bag of Hershey's Peanut Cups.
Many regrets were had.
I ordered easter eggs for my siblings and myself, turns out the one for my younger sister was 55g for the same price as mine which turned out to be 4 full sized eggs.
Got my driving test on Monday

Spend weeks trying to find where to get taxpayer reference number.
Get taxpayer reference number.
Sign in to government account, which also took several attempts to get.
Go to use Self Assessment
"Please wait a week for your activation code, which we send by post lol"

Buy a new one?
i'm trying to decide a new car, i live in a city centre but want lots of space so i'm considering a skoda superb l&k 280 estate
[editline]29th March 2017[/editline]
parking it would be an absolute nightmare though
I really like the Superbs, saloon and estates. I was looking at them when I was thinking about getting a new car, not l&k mind a bit out of my range
I decided to hang on to my car for a bit longer though and focus on getting a mortgage first, as mine doesn't really cost me anything other than fuel and tax and the occasional part failure (today it was £60 for a spring replacing and fitting)

up to 20/25k, 2 years old, insurance can't be too insane and interior comfort is a priority. Wasn't fussed about power but the 280 in a big barge makes it a fabulous sleeper

Yeah, would look at a 2nd hand V60 twin engine. Looking at one myself tbh.

when I was in your country I saw a drunk fat bearded man sitting outside a shop shouting "I just came from the battlefield" at random passers-by
So I was watching some Twitch streamer and he said something along the lines of "English means you were born in England, British means you were born outside England but now live here".
I couldn't convince him otherwise. He also mains Evil Ryu so he demonstrably has bad taste.
I don't understand why people, often nationalists for England, Scotland, Wales etc try to justify "I'N NOT BRITISH I'M X

The example I gave was "Isn't it like saying 'I'm not an American, I'm a New Yorker'?"
You're English, British, European, Western, Earthican, Milky Wayian. Deal with it, people.
Found out a few days ago that I've got a place on a PhD down in London!
Moving down from Glasgow in September having only been to London properly the once - any advice?

I mean I guess I'd say I'm Scottish because I've lived here most of my life and my father is Scottish, but I really don't care if someone says I'm British at all.
I mean we sometimes rib our English friends by going 'at least we're not English!' but it's all in jest.

One of my parents is Scottish so i got alot of family over the border. It use to be a bit of a laugh and i'd have ageed that is was a laugh and a joke up untill about 8 years ago, but thesedays it's positively uncomfortable being around some of them when the subject of "British, English, Scottish comes up".

It's more like saying I'd rather you call me Spanish than European.
It's more like saying I'd rather you call me Spanish than European.
But you're still European eitherway, he maintained that he was 'not British but English'.

Yeah tbh I only really make jokes with people who I know can take it.
I really think that since the Scottish Independence referendum there has been a lot of divisive bullshit from both sides and it's getting really stupid and has only been exacerbated by the EU referendum
I collect flags and I have a United Kingdom room on my wall purely because I think it's a cool flag (I also have the flags of the Russian Empire, East Germany, Nova Scotia and Argentina, for reference) and more than one person has had a go at me saying that it is 'disgusting' that I own the 'butcher's apron'
Like wtf are you even mad about it's a bit of cloth.
Maybe it's just me but I swear some Scots have a massive victim complex

Everything is at least double the cost of stuff back in Scotland and everyone's angry (although Glasgow isn't any better with the anger issue).
Also god help you if you need to drive.
I'm almost finished with uni (graduation in May...) and I might need to go to London for a grad placement as well (although my girlfriend has a placement down there as well) so I know the pain.
lmao where are you from
how is IT in an education environment too lol
I have been an IT Technician for a school myself since August. It is a small school so i'm a one man band. Working in an education environment is alright but naturally you have to plan work outside of your office around the teachers lessons so your not constantly interrupting classes. The nice thing about working for a small school is that they likely wont need you out of term time so depending on where you work if your like me you will get something like 13 weeks holiday a year. Pay will vary greatly from school to school but your going to be looking at a salaried position so thankfully even when you get 6 weeks straight holiday at the end of their school year your paycheck at the end of the month will be the same as the last. This Friday the school I work for breaks up for easter so i'm about to get 2 weeks off. I do go in however for inset days here and there before students come back to get stuff done whilst no classes are going on. These are often my busiest days of the year because I have free reign of the site at any time to do things.
I have worked at another school previous to this one being the total opposite with many thousands of students and an IT team totaling 4 people including myself. Working in a small school is a very different experience to working in a big school. If you work for a larger school you will likely work during the students holidays and you can bet your ass those half terms will be your busiest times of the year. The one thing that didn't change however is the computer illiteracy of the staff.
