United Kingdom chat thread V3: We still miss our empire

More than twelve hours since I last ate but there's still a mountain of pizza in the fridge. Also, to clarify I don't live alone. I'm just currently home alone while my parents are away again.
It seems that our cat has gotten so spoiled by me and her being alone and me letting her sleep on the spare bed and giving her chicken slices that she now hates my parents and reacts to their presence by pissing in the corner.
Our lass is on a diet, so won't have takeaway and there's something a bit sad about eating takeaway alone while someone is in the house
Just all labour, lib Dems and conservatives candidates come to my school and have a debate. Lib Dems candidate was really charismatic, funny and friendly, definitely know who I'm voting for now.

the same lib dems who trebled your tuition fees and gave the tories a leg up to dismantling to welfare state? at least they were a good laugh though!

the 'same'
are you really sure about that? they have a different platform and those accusations are only the result of having to compromise as a junior partner in a coalition government

Point is: that's all history, parties can change.
The twin pizza mountains have been conquered. Their challenge has been met, and I still stand at their bready summits, looking down at the valleys of melted cheese and tomato sauce. 30" inches combined have been consumed. It was a long road, with the threat of my incompetance and greed being exposed an ever-present danger if the task wasn't complete in time.
There was a point where I considered just throwing away the last two half-eaten slices, but I knew I couldn't stop now, I couldn't quit, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for taking the easy route after so much of the journey was already complete. So I didn't quit, I refused the easy road, the "good enough" path. And for my perseverance I can say, with no hyperbole, no shadow of a doubt, that I ate all the pizza.
I'm reminded of a famous song, one that encapsulates my trial and how I overcame the impossible odds. This verse in particular seems the most apt, except for the spitting part. I kept the whole thing down.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way
Mark Carney gave a statement recently

Growth was forecast to slow next year to 1.7%
inflation to be 2.7%

think you dropped this lad
(i jest, you can vote for who you want)
I'm a great believer in voting for the party you like/align with the most, and under any other voting system I would tell you to do that -- but the reality is that FPTP means voting for Lib Dems in most constituencies is, essentially, a wasted vote, and just makes it more likely for the Conservatives to win that seat.
https://www.tactical2017.com/
Ya. At the end of the day vote who you want and all power to you but understand the consequences of doing so, especially if you're voting in a swing seat and voting lib dems would nick a labour seat, all that does is make the Tory majority more likely.
Hear a weird screaming noise at work, go over to see my supervisor getting dry humped by a customer who says "Wanna join?".

I'm not sure how I'm going to eat on my final week here, but worst of all I burgered out during the phone call and answered "yes" when they asked me when did I lose my card :suicide:
If you have Natwest, you can use that code thing to get cash from an atm.
Or you could most likely take a bank statement, ID etc, to your bank and withdraw from the bank teller.
Absolutely disgusted by the British press doxxing the lad behind the domain purchase that prevented the further spread of the WannaCry attack.

ye he specified he wanted to remain anonymous and they put his pics in the paper.
Hopefully he can make a mint suing the paper for that. Surely there's laws (left) protecting anonymity when it comes to crime and its prevention.

Sick fuck
Ah fuck, I'm completely stuck down a hole with this whole Universal Credit bollocks. They fucked up my claim big time and I had to reclaim a month afterwards, the claim went though but it took a further 36 days to get a payment which paid for rent plus 100 quid afterwards to live on for a month. I've backdated it however they said "they take a while to backdate the payment" - this is all well and good but I have rent due at the end of the month and I don't have the funds to pay it at all. I was already 10 days late with my rent this month waiting for universal credit. So my pay-in date is the 10th of each month, I've asked if it can be put to the 1st however I was told this cannot be done. Furthermore I've had a lot of interviews that I can't get to for financial reasons, I had an interview in Wilmslow (around manchester) and it's 12 miles away from where I live so I had to get a bus and a train costing around 12 quid for that interview, and I had a second interview as well. I got rejected because "i'd get too bored of it after a while". I asked UC if it was possible for them to pay for my travel, no can do "that's what your universal credit is for", really? I thought given how little I get that it would allow to to actually eat at the end of the day.
Obviously I'd love to get a job and be over with it, but the fact of the matter is I can't pay rent at the end of the month so I might be homeless or something because the housing benefit is absolutely useless at this date. This system isn't exactly well thought out...

I had to backdate my claim after they didn't pay me for months, giving me some bollocks excuse that I didn't inform them I was out of work (which I did) but I had a safety net. The only advice I can give you is that harrass the hell out of them about it all. And they should cover your travel costs to an interview. They should cover the cost of anything that helps you get employment (not including the travel to adviser appointments). Keep making noise and they might just cave in and do their fucking jobs.

If you can't make rent then you may be able to get a forward payment from your UC to stay off the streets.

How long did they take to get back to you on regards to your backdating claim?
As for the advance payment, I already took one when I didn't have any money to eat in march. It's still to be paid off so I can't get another advance payment apperently.

2 months. The backdating was for 3 months (or 4 considering the first few weeks are unpaid) of UC. They also tried to fob me off with some sort of 'merging' of my unjustly closed claim and my current claim which I think would have just had me lose that money entirely because if I going to die then I'd better do it and decrease the surplus population.

Domino's finally got rid of that amazing Pizza Legend deal that's been around since fucking forever.
There goes my plans of getting an after-exam pizza.

dominoes is over prices and over rated anyway
their pizza's aren't exactly top quality and it costs a fortune
the one redeeming feature were though hotdogs wrapped in dough ball, which they don't even sell anymore

My local pizza shop does a massive pizza + chips + garlic bread for £10, and it tastes better than Domino's

I don't suppose anyone knows who to speak to about mortgages. Should I just go to banks and speak to them? I've done a few calculators and they suggest we should be okay to borrow. I've got a fairly good credit score, but also owe about £900 on my credit card (my limit is around £4000) which I'd have paid off by August were I not going to a wedding and stag do abroad
