Try learning an instrument (if you haven't) or something? Pick a hobby and just spend 2 months mastering it.
That's if money isn't the issue.
You guys got any ideas for short term work?
I live in a rural area of Scotland and I have recently been accepted into a Dutch university but I need a job for 2 months and no-one wants me.
Just sign on and look busy, even if it is for two months, you'll still get a bit of money out of it. Best way to tide over the pre-Uni limbo.

JSA/Citizens Advice won't give me shit since I am registered at a full time university in the Netherlands even though I've not attended yet
Oh yeah, I forgot, I started Uni before the Tories took over :downs:
I miss Gordon Brown.
It's super fuckin dumb that right now I have zero source of income and my family won't help (tho in their defence they are helping me out with university) and the government is /still/ like 'nah nothing for you go get a job'
Like I'm trying man but I'very been sleeping on a friend's sofa the past couple of days and buying the damaged discount food at the supermarket
How old are you & what marketable skills do you have? What kind of jobs are available in the area too.

21, licence but no car. Previous work has been mostly care focused or medical cover for events but I have also done some paid work as a sound gut for gigs.
This was when I lived in Glasgow though. Only jobs here are really family owned who don't like recruising.
You could try festival work? A lot of them pay for your transit to the event & your survival when there, pay is what it is but you're working some fun venues.

Try a local pub?
Cheers guys. I think the big problem is that people are not wanting to hire someone for just over 2 months (not telling people this but it's so tight nit up here everyone knows) but festivals and pubs might be an idea if I look further afield. Netherlands is paid up, but need something to live on in the meantime
Ask in pubs if they need anyone to wash the dishes they will hire anyone
just don't tell them you're going after 2 months, they can't stop you leaving
fake your own death or something
Dish washing in pubs/ restaurants is normally a good shout.
If you can hold your nose, you might be able to find some political leaflets to deliver for money (I dunno if they pay money for it though).
Also if you type in gig jobs into job sites you can normally find short-term, simple jobs.
.083 or .83?
Because the latter is the measurement a coroner would read.
Yeah .083, my bad.

Well, that was easier.
I'm in the same boat, looking for work but hard to find something for 2 months, got declined recently because I was honest about moving away seeing as it was a company I wouldn't wanna burn bridges with
Probably just going to have to go for bar work :vomit:

Living in what is basically a village in Bumfuck, Nowhere makes shit hard, but I feel the same way. I want to be honest with employers but I also need to essentially lie to have a hope in hell of getting a job.
I miss Glasgow.
Hoping everyone is alright with the shit going on in Manchester. Had a panic over some friends but they've turned up alright.
Just saw this pop up on Facebook
Never been so glad to have anxiety and leave a gig early in my life, just glad we managed to get out there, heart go out to everyone else that was there and the people that have and and been injured
Fuck me that's scary, I'm in Chester which makes Manchester my go to city for concerts, I can't imagine the feeling of seeing/hearing this happen in person. Hope everyone is safe!
Well for the first time since secondary school, I split my trousers open today as I stood on a chair. See kids, if I had done a risk assessment I wouldn't of had to gaffa tape my crotch together.
I hate doing washing up so much.
One day I'll own a dishwasher and I'll feel like I've made it
Terror threat raised to critical, stay safe people

Currently in the process of moving back home to Trowbridge from Basingstoke, lucky i managed to get a transfer with Tesco's otherwise i would be jobless.
[sp]Have to move because i broke up with partner, i came out the other side with two cars and £10,000 in debt, pray for me my children...[/sp]
Still no job but it turns out that my new University in the Netherlands is one of five European universities where Scottish students can get a maintenance loan from SAAS. :saxout:
No callbacks for jobs but this makes me happy.
So I'm looking at jobs and I see "Adult Services Lead" for a company called "Johnson Underwood Ltd" with a very vague job outline so I'm pretty sure someone is using a government website to recruit some whores.
In light of the heightened terror status, the security guards at my missus' work have been given some additional equipment...
Hi vis jackets

To be fair, they probably should have had those in the first place.
