Good on yer for votin'
First day at new job today and I've had zero sleep.
First day at new job today and I've had zero sleep.
don't leave us hanging, what is this new job. I'm really hyped up for the voting that's happening in a few days. I just hope there isn't a massive queue that I gotta stand in for hours before I can submit my ballot card. I'm gonna try and get there as soon as it opens to hopefully skip that, but then I'm worried everyone else will think along the same lines so it'll be jam packed.
Off to the Isle of Wight today \0/ I want to say i'll be taking in some sun and sea air, but i know one of those things aren't happening, maybe even both.
Cheers whoever it was in here that recommended investing in STRATIS a few months ago, you're a winner.
Cheers whoever it was in here that recommended investing in STRATIS a few months ago, you're a winner.
how much did you buy and for what price? it's like $10 per coin now. damn I'm sad. I wish I got in on that, I just had no idea. buying it at $10 a pop is too expensive for me, but back when it was like 20 cents I would have bought a couple hundred. are you planning on selling or are you stockpiling it all?

Maybe change some to ETH.
Cheers guys! I'm of the opinion it's most likely Frogmoor Lane, not 100% sure where the gentleman who found that information for me found it, but I'd assume he copied it as it was spelled exactly. I'll be seeing what records my town has of him, I doubt his original address from the UK would be listed but you never know what you'll find.
Got to remember that people spelt things phonetically back then, so "Moor" could easily have been written down as "More" I'm contacting a local history group in Rickmansworth, hopefully they can shed some more light
any chance you can find out who it was who gave you the heads up?
It was orcywoo6
The real gold these days is investing in one of the new startup "Alt Coins" that are all the rage since bitcoin is just too expensive. They are 95% risk but theres some decent candidates out there and others have rocketed in price in the past. One I'm currently invested in is called STRATIS. It's essentially revolutionizing the way bitcoin works and has some high profile devs onboard. Well worth taking a look at since they are at this time worth about $0.10 each. Theres constant good news and developments being made so surely it cant stay so low forever. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/stratis/#charts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1512202.0 https://stratisplatform.com/ For all of you that are sad about not having the foresight about bitcoin and have a bit of spare cash, its definitely worth having a look at one of these.
Turns out not in this thread but I thought it was, oops.
In an effort to reduce my level of hypocracy, I'm going to try to reduce my spending at ASDA since it's owned by Walmart, one of the biggest companies in the world. Smaller chains are ok, probably.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! I did find out today that after he passed away his wife moved to France.
I didn't pass my probation period, failed it by a hair. Back to Universal credit. [sp]I'm fucking distraught right now[/sp]
Absolutely hate "probation" periods, especially when they are like, 6 months, if you need 6 months to see if someone is a good fit for a job then it shouldn't take that long, don't sit there trying to bullshit and say it's just a test phase so to speak, it's clearly so you can drop someone same-day without having to give a valid reason. It makes job security such a pain in the fucken bellend. I've never failed one or anything, infact with all my roles in IT, the period is just forgotten about and never spoken of again. How long was yours?
Quick question: If I previously registered to vote for the EU referendum, am I eligible to vote for the election on Thursday? (No details have changed since.) I've tried searching but I can't seem to find a straight answer. I thought I was but I've been hearing mixed things from everyone I've tried talking to about it.

With your local polling station on, if you did you're registered to vote. If that isn't a thing in your area, check your local authority on here, https://www.yourvotematters.co.uk/register-to-vote/find-your-local-authority. Phone them and ask if you're enrolled to vote.

I called my local council today as I haven't received a polling card and wanted to make sure everything was good. They told me I was good to go and where my polling station was, it's super simple. I dunno why people ask these questions when it'd be much easier and way more reliable just calling the council in person.
I didn't know, sorry, first general election I can take part in. I'll call up the council tomorrow. Thanks guys.
If it turns out you're ineligible to vote, the deadline for registration was 22nd May so you'll be shit outta luck this time. I wasn't even aware there was a deadline until my FB started blowing up with friends posting reminders and stuff.
I'm just glad I got a postal vote - I've got an exam on the 8th and the exam hall's juuust far enough away that I'd be scraping in at the last minute otherwise. Took them a while though. I even received a different letter telling me that it'd be coming soon enough, which it didn't. I was surprised when it actually turned up - it was almost like the whole thing was arranged so I couldn't actually take part :v: Though what with the Tories not encouraging the young to vote, It wouldn't surprise me...
Aren't polling stations open until 10pm...?
To clarify; due to a series of fickle reasons, the exam hall I'm going to is a fair distance away by train. I'm actually going up there tomorrow, since I've got a few days of them and they all finish late. So y'see, if I wanted to go to the polling station personally it'd all get way more complicated than if I just used a postal vote.

I registered for 2015 and I haven't had to re-register since.
Hey guys. I need to get awareness for this bike ride me and my mate are doing. I'd really appreciate it if people could take a moment to read about TheChristie and see what they do to help people especially those with cancer. One of my family members died many years ago after a long and lengthy battle, so I'm doing this in honour of her. My friend is also joining me, it'll be his first long-distance bike ride. This event is the Manchester to Blackpool ride here in the good ol' United Kingdom. http://www.christie.nhs.uk/ This is their website. They are involved with the NHS, so you know it's a legitimate charitable cause. Now, don't be a stooge, but our team is called Dank Memes. We wanted to make a team and thought it'd be a memorable and funny name to use for support. Just imagine if we got interviewed by somebody. I'd definitely mention our amazing forum if any of you lovely guys donated! https://www.justgiving.com/teams/dankmemes Here is our team page. Donate the money to whoever you want, it makes no difference as it gets sent to TheChristie. I'm also recording this event for a timelapse video, so winners for that? I'll thank Facepunch for any support. I know this is completely ass-random, but...help me and my friend do something good. I personally live in Blackpool, and we've already paid to do this event. So we only need to raise money, the best way is through our [team] page, as it goes straight to TheChristie. A penny is a penny they didn't have before. Here's a picture of me for proof: And here's my face on a fucking digital billboard during our annual Ride the Lights event every August

Things are quite politically charged here at work. The electricians reckon voting Tory will kick out all immigrants, the Romanian and Bulgarian labourers are also voting Tory because there's too many immigrants. What the fuck is happening, I'm hiding in the loo.
