I feel your pain. I've done that flight from Changi to Heathrow a few times as a stop from Sydney. You feel absolutely disgusting
When you finally get home, having a shower and crawling into your own bed feels amazing.
[editline]10th July 2017[/editline]
The worst one for me was from Sydney to Dubai (or Abu Dhabi) to Manchester then having to drive a couple of hours to the office. That was downright dangerous.
For future trips, we changed it to Heathrow then Leeds with BA and it's only a half hour cab home.
Didn't help that I had the added stress of carrying 13kg of li-ion batteries, with a carry on limit of only 10kg, arguing at the check in desk in Sydney before finally relenting and finding somewhere in the airport to store them. The batteries stayed in Australia for several months until I returned.
I've done it a few times before and it's not great but it's the fact I'll be in Changi for 11 and a half hours by the end of this based on their optimistic timescales which makes it so painful. My mum and younger sister were on the plane due to arrive 2 hours after us and are probably over half way home by now. It's now also been 26 hours since my last sleep (including naps) so I am monumentally fucked right now. I'll probably sleep through the whole flight tbh.
Oh shit
Never been that bad for me. I'd be in tears

There was a problem with the brake lines and they tried to fix it but ended up just waiting for another plane to fly in, which I am now looking at. Now there's awful weather so I hope there's no more delays.
[editline]11th July 2017[/editline]
And we might have to prepare for more delays due to the weather. I'm so fucking done.
Why are there so many flying insects in my house? They're everywhere. I used to think this place was the International House of Spiders (and we do have too many spiders) but right now I'd welcome them if they would only catch these damn moths and fly thingies.

this morning I heard a very low humming frequency near my head, opened my eyes to see a giant fucking moth there. I tried herding him out my room but he kept slowly gravitating towards me, most terrifying thing I've ever encountered
I don't mind moths, but there's nothing worse than a big fuck off daddy long leg's mayfly thing. Some fucking dead space lookalike shit right there
[editline]11th July 2017[/editline]
And now whenever I see a small spider I keep thinking there must be a massive mother spider somewhere that I havent encountered yet

We've still got a few months until the massive influx of daddy-longlegs.
Question for you all, anybody ever seen Oralmedic in a shop? Absolutely fuckin desperate to get rid of this ulcer, it's killing me and I need it gone
Question for you all, anybody ever seen Oralmedic in a shop? Absolutely fuckin desperate to get rid of this ulcer, it's killing me and I need it gone
I had a mouth ulcer a few years back but I used Bonjela to nuke it. I remember feeling like I'd just shot myself in the face after I smeared it on, so it must've worked.
So I went over and saw my original uni pals go and graduate today. Was so good to see them all with their family, but weird to think that if I hadn't fucked up a couple years back, I'd be graduating alongside them. Was terrified a bit as my ex was about, but I got the most immense feeling of schadenfreude. That cunt had alienated that entire friendgroup that she didn't even speak to or congratulate any of the people there who had been her core friendgroup for 3 of her 4 years at this uni. I'm so happy about that after the shit she's put me through, even though it's not the nicest thought.

Bonjella is really just an ointment, the stuff I'm after kills it after one application
I'm gonna guess fidget spinner in the arse.
Oh, I wish. I worked there
Thing is, I was at the stage in my training where I stopped giving a shit, and they probably have all kinds of dirt on me - I swear I walked into a door at some point, and I guarantee they saw it.
I just managed to get my first ever Job interview and On Job Evaluation at my local McDonalds.
Its on Thursday and I'm a little nervous but I believe that I won't mess it up, hopefully.
I actually interviewed many years ago for McDonalds, I dont think its changed much after asking someone I know that works there.
I wouldn't sweat it too much, the interview process was really informal and consisted of just sitting in-store with a manager and having an informal chat about things like why you want to work there ('I have known a few people that work here and it sounds like its a good place to work and treats staff well'), what your long term goals are, how flexible you are and whether or not you'll be able to handle working in a busy non stop environment.
The common OJE for McDonalds is to throw you on the drive thru collection window for 10-20 mins after giving you a very quick rundown and you basically just check the order on the screen and hand the food to the customer, as well as hand over sauces/napkins etc as needed. All you really are expected to do on this is not need too much handholding and be super polite to customers (Enthusiastic 'thank you, enjoy your meal' type dealio)
And I'm on the ground. Now for Heathrow immigration, a380 baggage collection and rush hour m25

Did you get much sleep on the plane? Who's driving?
Did you get much sleep on the plane? Who's driving?
Oh we're getting an Uber. I slept a bit but honestly I'm in a state where my body is just broken and doesn't know what it wants.
[editline]11th July 2017[/editline]
And I'm home. Only took 40 hours from leaving my grandma's house to getting home...
I'm in the Netherlands now and our train services are shit compared to there.
I'm also a little salty because my plane was delayed by almost four hours

I haven't even seen any trains since I've been here in Norway. Seems to pretty much just be buses here in the northern parts

Scotland has a pretty extensive rail network but trains are rarely on time, often disgustingly dirty and scheduled really poorly
Which is funny because Scotrail is actually owned by a Dutch company
Maaaaaaaan chow mein is delicious, why did I not try it sooner?

Something like half of our rail providers are ultimately owned by overseas companies :v:

The Great Replacement (Bus Service) is real! :scream:

Northern Rail operating around Newcastle still uses 30 year old pacers though to be fair even though they look extremely worn and dated, they have always been clean and on time when I used them. They used to be owned partially by the same company that owns Scotrail until last year, when Arriva took them over.
I'm not sure about timeliness or comfort but in terms of cost mainland EU trains tend to put UK to shame. A train from Amsterdam to Berlin is 50% further distance and crosses borders but costs half the price it takes for me to get the train from Cardiff to Newcastle (Which is a single change, 1hr to Bristol then 6 hours to Newcastle)
Maaaaaaaan chow mein is delicious, why did I not try it sooner?
Just bear in mind that quality varies greatly from place to place.
Great, power cut at 6am, backup power supply is going phecking mad. Only slept for an hour. Yay.

Only been on 3 trains so far but they are so clean and comfortable. There is probably some shitters out there but not seen one yet. Only cost me about £15 to get from Amsterdam to Groningen which is almost half of what it costs to get to Edinburgh from Perth
I'm in Amsterdam boizz
I'm in Amsterdam boizz
I was in Amsterdam today on my way back home. Heading back to the Netherlands to live in a few weeks tho because I signed for my new house today.
Have fun lad, how long are you there for?
