What field?
What field?
Manufacturing Engineering (my degree is in Electronic Engineering). Just about to finish a year placement/internship at the place so I know I enjoy the job [editline]17th July 2017[/editline] Best part is I get to tell people i play with giant super conducting magnets for a living
Even better if they get so pissed they start to vomit everywhere.
I remember a guy getting on with a bag of cans of beer, drinking the entire bag and being so drunk he fell asleep in the aisle (no one stopped him from doing this either). The train had to wait in Polmont for 25 minutes while the transport police tried to wake him up and ended up just dragging him by his arms off the train instead. I'm glad those days are over...

The big mower has broken so we have to work out £12,000 which made me sad, you could get a genuine FAL for that money but the mower wouldn't run
I'm back from Amsterdam. Had a really nice time. I'd gone for a stag do and was sort of dreading it as I don't really and can't drink anymore but it was far tamer than I had expected. I didn't have a single hangover, although today I had a bit of a comedown We did a lot of smoking, ate a load of rubbish. Had a few pingers and watched a few peep shows. The peep shows are kinda funny, until you turn up and it's a couple one and see a improbably hairless man. A lot of the ladies are peng as well, I'm not sure if it was the beans (pills always make me horny but largely impotent) or I was more likely to look at the floor last times around, but it was something I'd not really noticed before.
Took less than two weeks from shipping my documents to the UK then receiving my British passport. Damn your passport office is way more efficient than Australia's
Took less than two weeks from shipping my documents to the UK then receiving my British passport. This was some years ago though, maybe they are competent now

Not sure on the legitimacy of that but might explain it.

As in, if you're in England, applying for an Australian passport, it's super easy and quick. And vice versa. If you're in Australia, applying for a British passport, it's super easy and quick.

Hmmm... I've definitely renewed my British passport whilst in Australia. But maybe that's different to applying for one?
Apparently they are trying to get Aussie Dual citizens to come visit/live or something.
Hmmm... I've definitely renewed my British passport whilst in Australia. But maybe that's different to applying for one?
I was renewing mine. You used to be able to send the application to Canberra however they stopped that back in 2015 (I think?) so all applications go to the UK now.

[editline]18th July 2017[/editline]
you need to have stayed in the UK for 5 years to stay after Brexit.
You got a source on this?
You got a source on this?
Here you go fam
A new "UK settled status" would grant EU migrants who had lived in the UK for five years rights to stay and access health, education and other benefits.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40376083 Worth noting that it's not been formally made law yet but it's the only thing that's been said on the matter afaik.
Went into an interview for a junior accounting position at an accounting firm, kinda like an apprenticeship where you work towards your accounting qualifications while there. The email made it sound like it'd just be a one to one with the woman replying, but when I got there and they left me to stew a bit 4 women walked in and sat down as the interviewers. Could see it as an advantage really cause I think a lot of people would brick it if that happened especially if they haven't interviewed much, but I managed to keep my cool and answer all their questions in depth, and judging by them smiling here and there at my answers and at one point I managed to make them all burst out laughing I think I got a pretty good shot.
Took less than two weeks from shipping my documents to the UK then receiving my British passport. Damn your passport office is way more efficient than Australia's
Was quite worried when I was getting my passport. Left it to the last minute a week and a bit before my holiday. Did the forms manually and sent special through the Post Office (didn't bother with the check service as you had to make an appointment) and my new passport was with me before the holiday. Big up HMPO!
By the way, if you do buy two dinners from a Chinese take-away eat the drier one second because the other one might be more oily or greasy by the time you get to it.
Do you eat anything other than takeaway?
Do you eat anything other than takeaway?
Look mate, I've just discovered food can have taste and I'm going a bit crazy with it. I'm cutting down now that I've got enough of those plastic containers to make my own Great Wall.
Has it been exclusively Chinese? Or have you dabbled with others?
Just Chinese. Previously I'd just had your usual American style take aways and local chip shops. I just used to be a very, very fussy eater so it's, like, mind blowing when I find a new food I like even though my sense of taste has probably changed since I was a child.
Try indian too. Goes down well with a nice cold beer.
My favourite takeaway is pizza tbh
Try indian too. Goes down well with a nice cold beer.
I don't drink, so a donner kebab is out too.
we talking takeaways? give us a wee box of chips, cheese & curry sauce any day bois
My favourite used to be pizza but now it makes me really sick
My favourite used to be pizza but now it makes me really sick
Lactose intolerance or something like that? I've tried lactose-free pizza and it was ok, not amazing but decent.
