One of my flat mates (I refer to my floor as flatmates now) was passed out drunk by 11 yesterday having drunk a lot of vodka, wine and other drinks and also smashed someone's glass :P
He just arrived back at the flat accompanied by an accpmmofation officers earlier than he should have so I assume he is extremely fucked up as I expected

Be a bro and keep checking on him through the night to make sure he doesn't choke to death on his own vomit

It's not really pres until someone smashes something. A glass, a bottle, part of themselves, their dignity. You name it.

Hard evidence London turns people gay - the liberal media won't report this.
[sp]genuinely interesting data from ONS[/sp]
Huh, surprised that's as high in NI, I guess Belfast makes up for how homophobic everywhere else is.
Turns out a workplace with so many different cultures and nationalities together and a hiring policy as lax as "can you speaky English?" and "are you high right now?" is a hotbed for diseases so after my first grueling work week I have one or two ear infections and another cold.
being in employment is a surefire way to get me doing shit
i spend all of my work breaks and my time on the bus going to-fro work on learning languages, roughly 3 or so hours a day
and then i get sick on a day like this and the whole schedule implodes
Freshers flu is fucking shit. My poor, poor head right now.

you guys talking about uni makes me wish I was back damn . Any lads at Bournemouth?

dat nostalgia tho
So I got a 85% on my first lab despite a) having (thoroughly) used 2 packs of tissues B) lost my voice c) having fucked hearing whilst D) having to try and explain things to an assessor with a reasonably strong accent and e)having a lab partner who couldn't be arsed to write things down until I'd moved to the next section. Feel like crap right now. Free pi though.

That is probably the one thing I won't miss about uni. Having to do group work in labs with fuckers who just don't care enough to even take notes. I'm more than happy to work with someone who isn't quite up to par, as long as they take some fucking notes.
Thankfully that stopped after second year when most of the course had dropped out/ failed or moved to modules they thought would be easier.
I've been grouped up with a guy twice for presentations who during the night before it's due, he'd message us saying he's had some family emergency and someone needs to do his slides for him. It was pretty clear he was bullshitting and the lecturer knew about it.
Fucking infuriating.

I'd be perfectly fine teaching him stuff as I have (some) experience with c compared to his apparent none (although iirc he said he was repeating the year after a few years out so he should have done it before) but he didn't want to do the work or learn and he typed at about one key per year when he did. I basically just carried him to a first on that lab.

When I get a cold I think back to the times I didn't have one and how I took it for granted

It's pretty inexcusable to still be doing shit like that if you've repeated a year.
At least Student Finance wont have their back forever I suppose.

We also have 7 weeks to find a lab partner then we get to be with them all the time so hopefully I can find someone more competent next week.
Alright lads, I've got to get from Newcastle to Leeds and the cheapest way is by coach. I'm not looking forward to it but a train is too pricey. Should I use Megabus, National Express or a different company?

Megabus is a fucking experience. It'll get you there and it'll be cheap. But it's not exactly comfortable. I've taken the thing to London several times now from Norwich. Two and a bit hours on one of those will make you appreciate walking.

Dropped out of BU two years back but I still work and live down there.

National Express is the same price iirc, is it any better?
I think in the UK they're more or less the same to be honest.
It depends on what route you're taking.
I've had both great and terrible rides from both companies.
Alright, are there any Leeds lads here? I need a good priced hotel in or close to the city centre.
Coming home from uni for a few days and eating all I want and having it not be pasta is the best

Can't go wrong with a Premier Inn. There's two (?) in town, there's one opposite the Arena
There's also a Radisson Blu and a Travelodge. Never stayed at a Radisson (and probably a bit pricier) and Travelodge is normally a bit shit
