It's the first part of the CONTEST strategy, basically tries to encourage schools / colleges to get their finger out and stop radicalisation. Unfortunately it usually manifests in a bunch of power mad overzealous teachers sending duff information to the security services who in turn have to follow up every lead.

Did a quick search, this looks like all it's done/will do is stir up even more tensions, especially if the authorities start sticking their cocks into things. Apparently all this is doing so far is just targeting muslim students and if anything it might radicalise them if they start getting harassed over petty stuff. Social services especially can be real asshats, I know a few people who've been on the receiving end of them whilst you see the big cases like Baby P a few years back that get easily overlooked.
Imagine getting a knock at the door because your kid quoted you harshly criticising Theresa May or the Government and some dumbass teacher took it seriously.

If you like DC Comics, Gotham is pretty damn good. Their Not-Joker is one of the best versions of the Joker on TV/Film. Only behind Mark Hamill and Heath Ledger in my opinion.
Just finished soldering together a little LCD screen and dear god, soldering 40 pins each spaced 0.5mm apart is not fun, especially when your hand isn't hugely steady and the soldering iron is wider than the pins. Still, when the Pacman animation played I was over the moon.

Also, never drop a capacitor which is about 1x2mm.

so about trump lads
the yanks proved they can outdo us in terms of fucking up
Fuck politics. I genuinely give up with idiots who believe that things become true if they want it to be. I hope this is as not bad as possible for us and for americans.
i'm going to make a cup of tea
"I voted for Trump but I didn't think they'd actually make him President!"
Where's Flashmarsh when you need him to make a politics comment
edit: Corbyn is objectively the best choice for Prime Minister, Cameron was the best Conservative to get into number 10, Brexit was a great idea
hopefully that'll summon him
Hey, I was at the SU. Me and a socialist were arguing with a guy who had watched too much Sargon of Akkad and supported Donald Trump. Collecting my thoughts right now, eating cake and drinking my tea right now.
Hahah what, my street is covered in snow and Donald Trump is the president
Does this mean it's going to get colder and hotter because Trump wants to end climate change deals? Lads, no amount of tea can stifle the rage I feel at Americans right now.

Saw this quote earlier in the morning:
Britain: Brexit for the British!
Europe: *Facepalm* Things couldn't be worse than this.
USA: Oh yeah? Hold my drink for a sec....
Hey, British friends, how do you adjust to your nation making a really fucking shitty mistake that will take effect soon?
I don't think there is any way to accept it, you just sit there feeling empty.
I am sorry, hombre.
Hey, British friends, how do you adjust to your nation making a really fucking shitty mistake that will take effect soon?
Donald Trump is a much more devastating mistake than Brexit. One is an unnecessary and self-inflicted set of painful and complicated international negotiations. The other is having a stupid, deranged, far-right narcissist in charge for four years. I think I know my choice.
So rip basically?
This American Experiment has really gotten out of hand, hasn't it?
Hey, British friends, how do you adjust to your nation making a really fucking shitty mistake that will take effect soon?
Honestly, mate? At least Brexit might be mitigated by the fact that our Parliament can force a soft-withdrawal instead of the unsterilised battlefield amputation that Despicable May wants to push.
You've got the Republicans in the House, Senate and Oval Office so it looks to me that there's no brakes on this wild ride.

Also, the irony isn't lost on me that in Britain today it's 9/11.

We'll let you know as soon as we figure that one out, current research suggests alcohol is a good starting point, then video games and a series binge.

get some friends together, have a few drinks, play games and whatever you do DO NOT TALK ABOUT POLITICS
i'm seeing some great shit on my facebook, one guy posts a status just talking about how disappointed he is with the result. then some batshit crazy biker from virginia with a santa claus esque beard - who i'm not sure is even facebook friends with the first guy - comments:
He will cl www an the corruption in our hovernment the last eight years have made us look like a joke.a president who is Muslim moving terroist into our country and innocent people killed. It has to stop you need to check uour facts on what has been happening in this country]
poetic
a girl threw a drink over the only trump supporter in the union last night and despite my usual opposition to this kind of stuff i cracked a nice big smile
There were quite a lot of trump supporters here, one was waving a MAGA flag and another had the had. One went to my dads old school (still producing fine young men!) and apparently they had a conga line to celebrate but I was too drunk and tired to notice
After a sambuca / corona filled night I just woke up to trump actually being a president
I haven't felt this empty since the hangover I had on my 18th when we decided it'll be a sweet idea to leave the eu lol
