Does the NHS really look like it's on the way to shartsville or is that just wild speculation. Because if not , buckle up fuckers the Swedes have returned to your shores. One at least
Look forward to Aberdeen being levelled by strategic bombers and turned into a Trump golf resort.
Where's Flashmarsh when you need him to make a politics comment edit: Corbyn is objectively the best choice for Prime Minister, Cameron was the best Conservative to get into number 10, Brexit was a great idea hopefully that'll summon him
click here to read my latest hot take on how it is actually the fault of smug liberals that the far-right took over the republican party: .. Rambling thoughts: I think some false comparisons with Brexit are being made right now. Some of the same sentiments certainly came through in both, but ultimately both have, in my view, very different origins. Brexit was as a result of a long-running feud from within the Conservative elite over the European Union, culminating in a referendum in which voters aligned with culturally (but not economically) aligned coalitions. This explained the Brexit coalition forming with both wealthy southern areas with poorer northern areas who shared similarly conservative cultural values - for example, views towards the death penalty are a very good indicator of views towards Brexit. Similarly, in my very pro-remain constituency differing political groups (with large disparities in views towards issues like taxation, welfare, etc.) all agreed and supported remain in opposition to these conservative cultural values. Although there was a far-right element to this (as seen by rise in hate crime after Brexit, etc.), I wouldn't describe it as a far-right phenomenon but rather as a resolution to a long-running disagreement over our position with Europe. The result is an incredibly difficult set of international negotiations and a shift to the right in British politics simply because many of those within the elite who supported Brexit and won were more right-wing than the incumbents. - In comparison, Trump is very much a phenomenon of the far-right. The Republicans, as I have mentioned, have become a far-right party post-2012. Conservatives often try to foolishly use the forces of the populist far-right to their political advantage. However, unlike the far-left (who are used by the moderate left), they are actually politically potent on their own and can take over the party that are using them. This is exactly what happened to the Republican Party. It was quite obvious in 2012, for example, that Mitt Romney was a moderate stuck in an extremist party. Since then, due to the political failure of the moderates, the far-right fully took hold of the Republican Party. A far-right candidate was then selected as nominee. In a manufactured atmosphere of crisis (which both parties have been using), the 'change' candidate is victorious against an uncharismatic 'establishment' candidate. - What I always find strange is that Trump supporters and those in favour of genuine radical change often seem to be living in an alternate reality where there is some kind of imagined great crisis. They think they are starving workers before the 1905 Russian Revolution, but instead they are well-fed white people who have convinced themselves through self-pity that their situation is somehow so dire that they should take a dice roll rigged against them in favour of some vague idea of 'change'. - One of the worst things about current politics is what some call the 'if I were the King' mentality. People are convinced that political problems are not resolved because current politicians are stupid, corrupt or evil and that they can resolve them if they became King and swept everything aside. In reality, political problems arise because they're difficult to solve. This mentality also leads to the erosion of politics where there can be agreement or consensus (particularly important in the US) because political disagreements are not because of differing opinions but because there is something evil about your political opponents.
Well, this day isnt completely all bad. I got a phone call today confirming that i will have a job as a Bartender by the start of next month. Don't know how i managed to put in "this" month, still. It should be fun. With any luck, i'll be able to start the new year without claiming Universal Credits for a bloody change. [sp]Is it bad that i actually want to pay dig money?[/sp] This year has been bloody weird. A certain Scottish football team might be the blame like they released a great evil apon the world, even still, I should make a thread here about all the good things that have happened this year since we've been so focused on the bad.

Eitherway they still have their claws in you, waiting for you to fall off the tightrope.
From what i was aware, as long as im earning more than £250 a month, maybe 300. So roughly 40 hours at minimum wage, I'd be alright. Maybe there's something different in Scotland compared to elsewhere. I'm fairly adamant to start earning money myself. To hell with this NEET shit. I might just be getting ahead of myself a little, this job might just backfire in my face come the end of Christmas in some way. But there's only one way to find out if such a job is for me or not and thats doing it myself.
Hey, British friends, how do you adjust to your nation making a really fucking shitty mistake that will take effect soon?
if you've ever thought about becoming a career alcoholic, now's your chance

Otherwise i'd say £300 is fuck all to live on a month [editline]9th November 2016[/editline] 40 hours a week at £6.90 is £1104

Oh god. Red Bull might be taking over Swindon Town FC. I don't want them to become Red Bull Swindon, and the County Ground become the Red Bull Arena.
is it me or is the tab the propaganda rag of the NUS
Wellp, the recent events in the US here gave me the kick in the bum to take 10 full time classes next semester to lift my transcript to insane levels so I can return to study in the UK again a year ahead of schedule. Cree8ive and I had beer once, I studied film at Essex, he gave me the kick I needed to actually start wanting to achieve something. Comfort rut and all that, kinda forgot to thank you for that friend, though I guess I could have done it anytime since we're FB friends. Now I'm, with any luck, in line to hopefully study electronics engineering at the University of Nottingham next year. Long time no see, hope you're all well despite the whole Brexit thing.
is it me or is the tab the propaganda rag of the NUS
anything but largely posts anti nus articles, incites anti-nus chat across campuses. if anything it will be the undoing of the student movement. also without the nus lots of su's would go bankrupt or have to raise prices lol1
is it me or is the tab the propaganda rag of the NUS
the tab is just an unfunny mess tbh

It was the only uni other than Southampton which I considered.

Southampton and UEA never emailed me back last year when I inquired about transferring directly for film while the other two got back to me within a week or less. I'm kinda a stickler for timely communication, even if it's to decline, especially because it's a simple inquiry and if it takes for(n)ever to respond to that, how long will it take to respond when I actually have to crunch deadlines for visas, CAS, loans etc. What did you end up doing in the end by chance, if I may ask?
the tab is just an unfunny mess tbh
The Tab a.k.a infinite variants of an article called "10 People You'll Meet in Halls" [editline]11th November 2016[/editline] speaking of, I'm all alone in my hall, all my flatmates have gone home. what shall I do?
Adecco.
Ohohohohoh Fuck these cunts with the rustiest farming implements on the planet. I interned at Aviva for a few months about two years ago as a Software nurd. Nobody who actually worked there liked Adecco, but for some reason management insisted on using them. For some reason, they even managed my internship contract. Along with two other friends. One friend had the wrong tax code the entire thing, and was stuck on emergency tax forever. Another was short a whole weeks pay for some unknowable fucking reason. I didn't get my P45 in anywhere near a timely manner. Fucking terrible contractor. And this isn't even getting into their utterly FUCKED online application portal that we had to use, which barely ran in a modern browser. I'm sorry to hear you had to endure listening to someone who actually watches Sargon at all. Even ironically.
Get a job in Tesco or something, you won't have the same level of accountability and probably would be paid the same
literally tesco it's boring as fuck but if you're notorious for having lazy days where you turn up and can't be fucked it's the best way to scrounge dolla either that or get on the bars where people'll motivate you in ways that aren't 'fix your pickrate you putrid cunt' [editline]11th November 2016[/editline] also i agree with the tab being a festering pile of boring, uninspired journalism
Always fun when someone invites a guy to the course friend group chat not realising he was the one who got kicked out of another one for Photoshopping a girls face onto porn and saying he wanked over it. He won't stop making sexual/edgy jokes and it's getting so annoying.

Got my "almost" girlfriend coming to see my mum next week. Things are going...fast. Funny thing is she's more worried about it than I am.
