it's weird how students who've never lived in bristol/bath seem to be competing for who's the most 'underground' around here there's like one or two locals on our course pack it in
buy new components yo
I would but I'm gonna see how AMD Zen turns out. I've been on a Core 2 Quad for this long, I can survive until January
I haven't bought anything today, recommend me some top deals lads
I haven't bought anything today, recommend me some top deals lads
Get a new refrigerator my boy.
My supervisor explained to be the weird way that the Co-op pays people and so my pay is actually fine, but I'll be getting a lot more in my next cheque
Get a new refrigerator my boy.
I bought a freezer a few months ago as it happens. Literally the least exciting large item I've ever bought I nearly spent £400 on a TV but didn't, I should probably use that money to pay off my credit card or something [editline]25th November 2016[/editline] I've introduced some of my team to SQL, one of the girls has picked it up straight away. Stuff that took me ages to get my head round she got in an afternoon. Why the fuck haven't I ever put her on it before, now I can get away with doing even less work
I'm tempted to buy an Xbone for Halo MCC but I'd want to get more than just that and Reach. What do people normally play on those things that you can't get on PC? [editline]25th November 2016[/editline] Shit I'm Gold what is this
Bought a new bed and mattress. Rip my money.
Well i can say i've been a waiter in a restaurant before, unintentionally and during Black Friday and despite my efforts not to be a waiter in the first place. I don't know how the fuck i managed to keep my head for most of that, or not drop anything. My fingers have taken quite a kicking. But that's fine, because i'll be starting Bartender training next week. I do have more respect for waiters now, if you're doing such a job for a fair stretch of time, you're a better person than me. Just need to survive the shift on Sunday before i do the thing i'm actually interested in. Hopefully that won't be a frequent thing.
Got an interview in Oxford on Thursday. This may be my only chance to escape London.

I've noticed that when we introduce some guys in our marketing teams upstairs to SQL they tend to pick up on it somewhat quickly for simple queries they might need. Certainly saves our data team a shitload of time running really dumb queries.
Yeah just queries so far, the way we've done it is introduce them to it with a presentation and a small challenge to see who's got the right mind for it, along with the necessary googling skills. One of them just gets it completely and most importantly finds it interesting. She's probably my best team member. It'll definitely be useful for times when myself or my boss aren't in and something needs tweaking. I'm no expert in it though, everything I've learnt has been since I started here doint the same thing they do. The companies been pretty good to me.
My uni is the target of a peaceful protest from the Neo Nazi group RVF later this Saturday due to the uni ending a contract hiring them as cleaners because they found out they attended meetings of said group. Now I don't really give a shit about Neo Nazis, but since I can't find any extra information about the grounds of these cleaners being let off, I'm curious towards the legality behind companies firing employees for their private activities and views. As far as I know its legal to be a member of these groups and its legal to attend their meetings, so they weren't doing anythung illegal. I understand universities not wanting people who share extreme and potentially violent sentiments towards racial, religious and sexual minorities, yet it still feels strange that you can be ejected from your job for your views.

What uni do you go to? I suspect they really can't fire people on the grounds of their extra-curricular activities. But people, not unreasonably, tend to find exceptions when it comes to Nazis.

I think that protest happened Sat 22nd Oct. Really not sure on that one. Probably depends whether or not their views are protected under the equality act (I don't think they are), as well as their contract. Probably have grounds on something like the fact that said political associations conflict with the whole university wanting to promote diversity and equality image.

Its a ethical mess. I disagree with people being fired for their views or peaceful expressions, and yet fuck Neo Nazis.
anybody watch BBC breakfast this morning see KT Tunstall comparing herself to Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan absolutely blasphemous
Almost spat out my morning cup of Yorkshire tea, I was mortified.

Went shopping, coming home on the bus, the bus stops at my stop so I gather my things and start walking down the stairs only for the bus driver, who has cctv on upstairs and the stairs, to close the doors and start driving off with me still on the stairs, causing me to fall down and luckily not hurt myself. The obvious response of the driver was to apologise and ask if I was alright. Nope, he gives me a patronising lecture on how I shouldn't have been moving when the bus was moving (note: I was on the stairs when he started moving) and that I should tell him I was getting off (I figured the 'please stop the bus' bell was sufficient as it is for all other drivers). Took most of my self control not to start and argument with him.

I had an argument with one of their drivers a couple of years ago and their customer support was very good. After I filed a complaint online they wrote me a letter saying he'd been interviewed about the incident, there'd be a permanent mark on his file and they were sorry for the inconvenience.

HMRC charged me £44.40 so I'll be having words with them
Unlink, it's in Southampton and tbh I'm just going to pretend it never happened.
report it. bus companies tend to respond well to it
Unlink, it's in Southampton and tbh I'm just going to pretend it never happened.
You should still report it. Cause the driver will continue to do it, till someone gets hurt.
Just found out that a job lot of about 50 magazines I got 3 years ago for a tenner are now going for £5 apiece. Hopefully some more money towards a pc. On a completely unrelated note, history magazines, £5 each, 4 for 3!
HMRC charged me £44.40 so I'll be having words with them
What was it for if you don't mind me asking? I feel like they can be a bit dodgy sometimes. HMRC once sent me a letter saying I had underpaid tax for the last financial year so the would effectively be raising my tax rate slightly for the next year to cover it (or they would be lowering my tax free allowance - I can't remember the exact wording but it was something like that). Then 6 months later I get a letter saying I still haven't paid the money to them (???). Annoyingly they don't accept bank transfers or a debit transaction so I had to ask my bank for a chequebook just to pay HMRC.
mm, gotta love having: shift time change mid-day without actually being informed run a gig ( 5+ acts ) without any soundchecks beatboxers being stuck-up pedantic cunts overly-enthusiastic organisers getting in my way, making up that mics have been lost/ tampered with and generally making everything more stressful no communication between acts such that they fuck up our entire setup with every act that arrives having to move and pack a way a ~75kg sound desk on my lonesome sometimes being a techie can be stressful as fuck
What was it for if you don't mind me asking? I feel like they can be a bit dodgy sometimes.
They got my tax code wrong, just need to fill in a form and it should be okay
