You still in Special's or a reg now?
Reg
I was interested in joining the met at one point but you need to pass this course (CKP) which costs over £900 to get in, money I didn't have laying around. I found out later the transport police don't need it but I had moved onto to other ideas.

The CKP is ridiculous, although I understand that you don't need it if you've served as a Special? So that could be a potential path; join as a Special and then apply internally as a Reg. BTP requires the CKP now for external candidates.
Thought they needed someone in uniform to actually stop/arrest you, the unmarked non-uniformed ones are just spotters right?
No idea to be honest.

Cheshire still requires you to do the course even if you're a special.
Tesco is buying Budgens so I'm hoping they don't convert all the stores else I'm probably out of a job

snip total shitpost
I can confirm that Trainspotting 2 is fucking amazing and you should go watch it. (Might be somewhat bias due to where i live)
I got a 20 chicken nugget "share"box along with a medium Big Mac meal. I did not share. It hurt to live for a while.
Yeah I deserve the fine haha, but your case I would have gone to court and protested that shit.
Nah, i should of found out the info and sent it myself, it was my fault tbh
They're showing Ghost in the Shell at the cinema over the weekend. Gonna take my missus, shes gonna hate it.
I know posting politics questions here is a bit dodgy and divisive, especially considering how toxic political discourse has been in the last 2 years, but still, I'm curious:
Bourbon or Custard creams?
Custard Creams are the safer one. Bourbon are always liable to leave the chocolate dust that turns your teeth black even after a brushing. Not that I don't like Bourbon mind you.
its illegal for my old maths teacher to go to america now
what the heck

Custard for life, although I can do with Bourbon too

I can't decide, all i know is when i'm eating either i try and get the creamy centre out of the biscuit sandwhich intact, a feat which i am proud to say iv'e accomplished many times.
One day many moons ago I lost all self worth sat down and ate an entire packet of custard creams with my tea without realising, I then chundered the whole lot back up later that evening and the house stunk of biscuit for a week. The missues now refuses to buy them because i put her off them for life.
How that for yet another shit anecdote.
Lads, buy my own place with a mortgage and just fucking deal with it or continue renting places for less for a few more years?
Because buying my own place is starting to get really fucking tempting. Every rental here is overpriced, but every property is under offer for way too much. I need to live in this city, but this city doesn't want me to live here it seems.

Bourbons win out overall though Custards are good shit too.

Also Custard if you have a cup of tea, Bourbon if not.
Bourbon hands down.

Honestly mate, get on the property ladder sooner rather than later. It's better to do it now so you pay the mortgage off sooner, and I don't think housing is ever going to be reasonably priced again. The current economy is murder for young people.
I can't believe you fucking bastards even consider custard creams over bourbon

a perfect way to start page 58: the biscuit appreciation page

Yeah I honestly just have no idea where to even start. I have the cash for a reasonably solid deposit on anything up to like £130k, but that's it. I'm done after that. No money at all.
Not even sure where to start lmao. I can get as far as "looking at a place" in my head, then it goes blank and I'm unsure of the rest of the process entirely.

I'm trying to remember the name of a kids show that I think was on CITV years ago.
The only thing I can remember, is it was set in a shop (maybe a clockshop?), the main character was a large puppet I think, and a family of puppet mice lived in the walls and helped him.

Nah. The main character was a bird or bear or something.
