So... after being told to go to a few places, getting bollockings when I don't document my job search to their standard, and having to go to the job centre weekly/fortnightly I've recieved a letter telling me that my Universal Credit claim has been closed. Not suspended, not sanctioned, closed.
I've been going there since before December and I've not gotten anything and now I'm apparantly not going to get anything for my effort in job searching.
How does that even happen?
When I lost my job a couple years ago I didn't even bother going to the jobcentre as I looked for another job. They're useless and treat you like scum. I'm not sure how it works now but can't you reapply for universal credit? Did they even tell you why they closed it?

I need the money even if I weren't attempting to go to uni otherwise I wouldn't be going there. Sure I can reapply but why is that necessary? They didn't tell me why they closed it, it's not like there was any warning if I was sanctioned before or anything. I'll have to phone them on Monday.

Oh christ, youstill don't have to listen to the first 20 seconds of Vivaldi's spring (at a glorious bitrate of about 4kbs) when you inevitably get put on hold do you?
To think I used to like Vivaldi, thanks DWP!

Is anyone going to i60?
I'd love to but I'm working on those days and no way of getting off work for it
i60 is April bank holiday, starts on 17th IIRC

14th to the 17th. Tbh the only way I'll end up there rn is if my team win NUEL which is a very, very long shot.
Has anyone ever watched a normal video, and thought "Hey, this almost looks like it's CGI or 3D rendered" despite it being a live video. Sorta shows how far our technology has come that we're starting to get uncanny valley with human beings...

What the fuck is this year 10 parent's evening thing?
yet another facebook event created by people who don't understand the difference between a private and open event
So my pain in the arse team members' new tactic is to find fault in absolutely everything and act like misspelling vitamin D as vitamin B will be the downfall of the company
Still talking about having meetings like she's discussing deals worth thousands, when really she's just going to moan about her colleagues

This website is pretty interesting.
People who loudly play music on the bus, sing along to it and knock on the window at people deserve to have their coke always be flat and their mattresses always be almost uncomfortable enough to be replaced, but not quite.
Just saw a gang of goths hiding under some college stairs, thought they went extinct?
Just saw a gang of goths hiding under some college stairs, thought they went extinct?
you've found where they all are
Just saw a gang of goths hiding under some college stairs, thought they went extinct?
Yeah I thought they wouldve died out once the last generation grew up and either became normal citizens or those weekend goths who don a suit for the working and then put their makeup and nu-rocks on to drink snakebite in the pub
Good to know they can be found in the same place though
I was complaining about a lecturer a few weeks ago, and apparently now attendance has fallen to about 10%

A few of us will be at i60, weirdly not as many as last winter though, I think.
I started taking a travel kettle in after they took the piss and got rid of kettles/microwaves because 'health and safety', so anyone going is welcome to come and get some hot water from me for pot noodles or whatever other just add water crap you want.

Yeah not sure where they all went, in Newcastle there's a square where 10-15 years ago every Saturday a crowd of 100s of goths/counter culture types would gather, I think closer to 2010 it completely died out. I used to go there when I was in my punk rock phase when I was like 13. The same square has been called hippy green for 40 years though, cause apparently it was a gathering place for hippies first before other emerging subcultures started using it as well.
I dont think people being goffos has died out, maybe its just because nowadays its so easy to meet and talk to people without actually having to go out. I didn't even have a phone back then and at first it was a while before social media was a thing so sometimes going there was literally the only way to see or talk to friends who weren't from your hometown.

Gimp suits and police uniforms don't count as goth clothing.

When your labs go from how to write C++ code to generate wavefunctions of electronic diffraction to how to use word and search engines :suicide:
Went to a pub quiz last night (we won but that's besides the point woooooooiiii oiiiii), i've woken up with a terrible hangover and a vague recollection of me being fucking horrible to this one girl who was bragging about how much more money she'd earn from her degree when compared to mine, i said to her "you know the Beatles said money can't buy you love? with your face i'd keep my fingers crossed"
Destroyed
Always fun when the careers person for your department at uni sends you opportunities as an "ISIS summer student". Had to do a double take.
