What's Plymouth like these days? Never been before but I'm going to Paignton later this year for a week and might drop by.
The locals are vile
What's Plymouth like these days? Never been before but I'm going to Paignton later this year for a week and might drop by.
Amazing city, nice vibe overall from the students mostly. It's really great to explore around for a sunny day with the sea front and the Barbican. As said, locals are a menace but a minority.

Southampton on the other hand isn't too bad, love going to Westquay for a shopping spree.
I like Southampton, it has a nice feeling to it
It's lovely, I'm really enjoying being at uni here.
It's lovely, I'm really enjoying being at uni here.
bf used to attend uni there, live in Basingstoke now. I'm originally from Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Loving Glasgow at the minute. Got tickets to TRNSMT and also Eminem/Run The Jewels
I'm going to see Eminem at Reading, although I'm not a super fan anymore. The Reading line up wasn't as good as I hoped, but hopefully there might be some cool underheaders or shared headers. In London though, I got Mac Demarco coming up, Vulfpeck and Justice in close to the same week, Reading Festival, and I also got Snarky Puppy in Poole in May. Looking forward to it!
Also, when I make my leave and return to Finland, one thing's for sure. I never want to lay my eyes on another Sunday roast. The meat itself tastes like a boiled wallet and there's an excess of rubbery potatoes and mash made of unidentified roots, all swimming in an ocean of turd-brown sludge. My host family also seems to forget my preference for smaller meals every Sunday, so the dinner is doubly agonizing for me when I have to scarf down double the roasted shoe sole and its miserable vegetable cohorts
Somebody hang this traitor from Tower Bridge, good lord.
I like Southampton, it has a nice feeling to it
The only thing that sucks in Southampton is fucking Chiko-land Extra and Jesters. I stopped going out all together, since there is not too many clubs like I was used to before I moved to England. Pubs are nice though.
Finally got around to filling in my student loan application, again, for the 3rd time. That is another 9k+3k to my already 18k debt that I'll likely never end up repaying.
Student debt is the most irrelevant thing ever. You're either not going to ever pay it back, or be earning enough that there's no noticable impact from paying it back.
it's a British mod fest with these new lads bring facepunch home

I didnt get my Universal Credit payment today because of a sanction from a previous claim I was entirely unaware of. I wonder how far I can get £6.22 in my bank account to stretch...
I'm trying to cancel a Vodafone mobile broadband account over a live chat. So far I've spoken to Esther, Malik, Gavin, Karan and now Matt. I feel like I'll be paying for this broadband for the rest of my life, it's linked to my mobile too so I can't just not pay it On the bright side my work PC has reverted back to UK keyboard layout after deciding that it wanted to be American [editline]13th March 2017[/editline] Quoting you to put you top of the page, hang in there buddy
I didnt get my Universal Credit payment today because of a sanction from a previous claim I was entirely unaware of.
I didnt get my Universal Credit payment today because of a sanction from a previous claim I was entirely unaware of. I wonder how far I can get £6.22 in my bank account to stretch...
That's rough, sorry to hear that. Fucking Job Centre's a shambles. I've not been paid for months because informing the job centre that I'm out of work the day I left work and not months after the fact was apparantly a bad thing to do. For all I know I'm likely to get sanctioned for missing an appointment I was told not to attend. At least I had have savings and parents, not sure what your situation is.
Thank fuck for that, I got it sorted, Im behind on 2 of the 6 weeks im owed but at least I aint gonna starve now :v:
same, it's fucking horrible, especially since tuition has risen to 9.25k, which is just scummy
You are literally never going to have to pay that.
So one of the guys I'm living with next year wanted us to sign on a house so he agreed to take the room which was the sticking point to get it done. Now it's been assigned to me in the random lottery they all decided on and he says he only said it to get the house. Needless to say I'm pissed off right now.
Is it not 9.25k after they also upped it for existing students?
Oh fuck it is, its even more than I thought. 5 years of debts gonna be real fun to sit on my shoulders after all this though. [editline]13th March 2017[/editline]
You are literally never going to have to pay that.
True if you don't make over £21k you wont be paying into at all. Its just for someone like me who has never actually owed people money the whole concept is still a bit daunting. Plus its a big number, don't like big numbers.
You are literally never going to have to pay that.
You never know what our glorious conservative government will do.
I am planning to transfer my degree to Canada and I'm finding it super hard time finding any sort of financial backing other than super dodgy websites. Plenty of options for the US but I can find nothing for Canada. I am intending to pay as much fees as I can up front with my savings but a small loan would have been ideal.
What's wrong with the room?
It's small, kind of low and doesn't have as much space. I'm pissed off he literally got us to agree to getting a house with a lie.
2 hour wait in the Minor Injury Unit at my hospital, help what do I do
Cause yourself a major injury so you get seen faster.
2 hour wait in the Minor Injury Unit at my hospital, help what do I do
You wait.
2 hour wait in the Minor Injury Unit at my hospital, help what do I do
Be born rich so you can go private and look down on the NHS-using leeches.
