We Must Stop All Research Into Extending Human Lifespans
Well actually, it is in our instincts to be cautious and not trust everyone. You could probably manage to have a human race working in peace for maybe... 5-15 years, but at some time some person will be jealous, get pissed off, act egoistically or whatever and cause a chain reaction from it, and whoop there goes that peace.
oh look up the latest science books almost all scientist agree that all are actions are environmental, you dont just become a jerk for no reason or jealous or angry.
Dont worry, by 2050 we will all be dead, normally :)
Futurama.
So, we will get to the year 3000 and onwards.
Oh my, what an horrible future we will have... At least we get to ride inside tubes! :downs:

my logic is, we're dicks now, we've been dicks for thousands of years, so I'm assuming we'll just keep on being dicks in the future.

Stop assuming man. Technology could put an end to that. You're ''assuming'' that people will stay exactly the same, primitive and animalistic but many scientists will tell you that with the rise of widespread biotech and other hi-tech use and development humanity will most likely start changing itself, for better. Yes there still will be horrible shit happening, but it won't be as bad, simply because the new system would be a lot better at managing the whole situation for the positive benefit of everyone else.
All we need to do is transition, as fast as we can (but still at just the right pace to control the damage which would inevitably be made) to the better system.
The way things are looking atm is that if action is not taken humanity will go into an inescapable chain of horrible shit happening. This can be stopped.

well you dont see people stealing air. the same logic goes if we made everything easily assessable

That I completely agree with, we react based on our environments and our actions (I have had wall-of-text discussions with this where I am the only that truly believes that fate exist in the way that all we do is logical decision based on everything we have experienced and everything we are experiencing right then and there and who we experience it with).
However, we do have instincts, had we not had them then we would not handle life very well in the early stages of life. Just look at animals... Cats for example, nobody taught them how to hunt or what to hunt, they are born with the knowledge of how to move and hunt and what to hunt.
You can try and make a perfect society but it is impossible because it is in our instincts to think of ourselves and our nearest (family) and care for them before others, we are greedy and selfish, that is a fact, we do everything for ourselves (which doesn't have to be a bad thing, we can help people to feel better about ourselves by "doing the right thing" and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that). So in a perfect society there will, no matter what, always come to some point where someone does something selfish and unfair and thus trigger a chain reaction of events that will cause others to also be selfish and unfair, most likely in order to counter the other persons unfair actions, and as soon as that is done there is no stopping it and there will most likely be a fight between someone, at least a quarrel and bad relationship between two or more people.
I don't even want to live to be 20 in this society.

like i said before you dont see people stealing air and if we made things as abundant then no one would steal. also cats do learn. they learn what things or poison and that some things run faster then others, they also find out that some humans will pet them and others will hit them so the environment does change them
if you make it were there is no use in being selfish then people will not be
I don't like the idea of scientists conducting research into how to extend the human lifespan with molecular nanotechnology and crap.
There's a biological cap on human years for a reason. There's just no way the planet could cope with people living to 200 years of age or more. Food, water and oil are already precious resources, I wouldn't want to imagine how expensive they'd be in an inevitable population explosion.
Unless we start colonizing space, which doesn't seem like it will be happening any time soon, where the hell would you put all these people?
There is a cap on human lifespan to cause evolution to work,
The lower your lifespan the faster you can evolve.
My ass.
All that does is turn the catholics at the top into a bunch of fuckheads who rape children and persecute jews because no one will say a thing against them..
If people at the bottom are fuckheads, the people at the top are fuckheads. Give the job to the peasents, give the job to the aristocrats, give the job to me, you're going to have a fuckhead in charge and everything going to go to shit.
Actually Catholics can't persecute Jews because they actually are the Jews.
Catholics are the real Jews, the current Jews are heretics that created a man made false religion.

1. Instincts can be overcome. That's what sets us apart from animals.
2. Perfection is just a human invention. A word. A term. A description. But positive actions and negative actions definitely are a reality. For example, look at the hydrogen atom. Is it perfect? Who knows? Who cares?
What you should care about is what you can do with it. It is ultimately actions that determine our fate, and they can be either negative or positive, no?
At the moment the world is quite chaotic, there is little proper order and many people's lives are totally up to chance.
Being selfish is, for example, a positive trait. It is an extension of every organisms' self preservation. But this has to be harnessed.
Being greedy however, is often a result of not actually knowing what you want and trying to show off. If a society existed where people are free and able to pursue their dreams, this wouldn't really be a problem. People would know what they want and enjoy, and they would just do it. Hell, by then, they wouldn't even be people. They'd be something much more. The next step in the evolution of mankind, this time in our total control and grasp. No longer do our lives have to be like a boat drifting in the raging waves. Now we have the possibility , for the first time in history, to set the course and sail across the sea of reality, in a calm sea, if you [I]catch my drift.

As a concerned stranger, let me tell advise you: don't give up. Don't do anything stupid. The future may yet yield awesome things for you, and everyone else. There will be turmoil, most definitely, but your fate and everyone else's is uncertain. The world may be full of shit but that doesn't mean the shit can't get cleaned up. The best thing we can do now is try to adapt, yet act on it so it becomes better over time.
Stop assuming man. Technology could put an end to that. We will stay primitive and animalistic at any time no matter what, it is our safety restore point should things fuck up and we have to resort to living without technological aid. The only thing that will change is that we surpress it more, the same way you can surpress your thoughts, lie and say what you don't mean and keep things to yourself. As you said yourself horrible things will still happen, it's only the amount which will decrease. There is no such thing as perfect harmony between any living beings, and it would be horribly boring had it been possible. However, I'm not saying we shouldn't work towards perfect as well as we can, because very good is much better than good and any improvement is an improvement.
It sounds to me that you think humanity hasn't improved tenfolds already and isn't continuing to do so, because it is. Whilst the AMOUNT of people that are suffering is far bigger than before the PERCENT of people that suffer is way lower than before. Human living conditions, rights, fairness, goodness and everything has only gone one way in a long time, up, up, up, up and up. Instead of having people being raped, killed, stabbed, fucker around with and what not in secret, hidden from anyone most things are now under our awareness and we can and have stopped a lot of it.
Whilst you can see a report and see news increasing and increasing it's just because we can now actually report it rather than not know of it at all. That's why so many people think it was safer and better in the old days then it is today. The fact is however that we are living in the best and safest time of all in human history. We just have a higher population so the amount of people that suffer is sadly higher, but the percent is much lower.

There is always a handful of those who take your whole hand if you give them your finger. There is those who take way more than they need and leave others in the dust.
Bullshit.
First of all, technological development is tremendously constricted by the present system. Why? Because it would be totally unprofitable and technology effectively breaks this shit system down.
Many people can not enjoy themselves. Their dreams constantly ruined by the sick world we live in. Money has been the bane of many. I have experienced that first hand, living a tough life away from the land of my birth ever since I was a young boy. I've had my dreams crushed over and over by this stupid system and it's absolutely disgusting the way our world is being managed, and damaged in consequence.
Yes, we still do technically live off the land, but we're doing it the wrong way. The worldwide elite specifically make things scarce. People toil in their billions each day, most of them for peanuts. We're all fucking slaves. You say life's in perfect balance, and that's the last nail to your argument's coffin. The system makes people's lives absolutely awful in comparison to how they could be. Imagine all the things you could do. Imagine all the dreams you could fulfill.
Disease-free immortality; post-humanity. We could all be gods.
The only problems it would create is the fact that ignorant people like you would get in a fuss, and the elite being super-cunts over it.
This needs to end.
A new era of prosperity and development needs to begin, or it will be too late to fix it.
The coming decades will decide the fate of humankind and possibly everything else on earth. Would you rather have a dying world, or a civilization spanning across the known universe?
Humanity needs to be transcended. We need to strive to improve. Yes people will be selfish, but the only reason people commit heinous acts because of selfishness is because of the way the world is. In a sane society (which totally can be accomplished through scientific reasoning and application) the world would be a far better place and people just simply wouldn't act like retards because they'd know better than that.
Right now our dear society is like a coliseum. It's fucking barbaric. Constant competition. It's like a cloth soaked in raw madness and the blood of untold billions of people.
High fucking five.

We're no better than any animal, we're just in our niche. We act greedy because it's how we survive.
Why do you think countries have a lot of nuclear weapons. For survival.

so you are saying for no reason people will breath more because they can. why take more food then you need because when you need more then you can just get more or will people have more then one of the same videogame console just because. the only reason you think this is because greed is all we have been seeing lately

Yes. I totally get you man. That's what I'm pretty much trying to spread, decease that amount of crap happening to a bare minimum. As much as we can.
And don't get me wrong, I totally know we're all much better off than we ever have been as a race. It just pisses me off that there are total stupid cunts pretty much owning us, and it could be so, so much better.

1. No, they can't. What sets us apart from animals is our thumb and having a sense of humor. Or thumb has allowed us to grasp things and use them as tools, from there we have just learned and learned and learned thanks to the thumb and at some point learned our selves way to communicate and at some other point got ourselves so much safety from hunger and animals that we got free time, time we could spend thinking on things that weren't gathering food and taking care of the family. Philosophy and science basically.
2. Positivity and negativity is also just a human product, positivity and negativity comes from morales. What one person finds terrifying and wrong another person finds delightful and right.
Yes and no, that's all I have to say that really. There is system and there is complete chaos. The main problem is that few of us aren't politically active and actually try to change anything, we just talk about it and leave it at that. I am one of those like a billion others.
Yes, I already explained a positive side to being selfish. Greed is that, and it is knowing exactly what you want and caring about only that and not caring about others. "I WANT MORE FOOD" *Takes more food and eats it* *Person #2 is left with no food and starves*.
People can't be free and pursue their dreams and not end up with greed and horror. Because some people will find their dreams to be to hurt other people or animals for no reason. Other peoples dream will be something along the lines of Hitlers dreams. Without restriction comes the real chaos, freedom causes more pain than total control, that's why we need something in the middle that doesn't allow people to just exactly what the fuck they want, but without telling them exactly what the fuck to do. Basically something close to the system we already have some places, democracy, and no capitalism.
And no, our fates are 100% certain, they are just impossible to figure out. All my choices are already set, I just need to take them first. I take them myself and take the responsibility for them, but the choices were still set up and decided since the existence of existence.

Reborn9, maybe you should stop bitching about how unfair everything is, get up from that chair of yours, plant your two feet on the ground and actually get up to the top instead of expecting it to be handed to you.
Make it to the top, be one of the billionaires, it's not as hard as you think it is.
Right now things work. When we start spreading wealth and allowing people to live for the sake of living, shit will hit the fan and it will generally turn the wrong way, not the way you expect it to as described in your posts.

Made a post about how you can't use air as example so won't reply to that.
Some people like to collect things, some people like to be safe and have more than they need. People develop different interests in things and will want things different.
Lately? I'm pretty sure I've seen greed always through all of history.
Hell yeah. Nothing worse than people who do think we can reach a perfect pristine clear condition, or those who think there is no hope for humanity and the best solution is that we should kill our selves.
It can always be better, isn't that just a good thing? I sure as hell wouldn't like to reach the top peak of something, when there is nothing to improve, that would be horrible. "Oh, so this is as good as it gets? Fuck."
What's wrong with Atheism exactly?
and whats wrong with science?
what if we have enough apples for everyone then what?
Then we have enough apples. But what about pears? Cars? Gameboys? Scarfs? Jackets made by Bonnie MacClyde? Statues fingered by Glee Monkono and painted by Gula Marfas?
People get freedom. People make what they want. People get interested in what that person makes. Person lacks enough material to make enough of that to meet the demands, some people end up without it but wanting it. Stealing will most likely occur.
