They edit the slide areas using Adobe AE. If you mean the recoil hand reaction it's because they tried out the real guns already.
Hey guys, I was the guy in the guy in the backseat with the bandana wearing the red sunglasses and wielding the shotty. The filmer and editor is a very close friend of mine and he is a beast at special fx.. he does use after effects cs4, and simulates the blowback of the gun by masking the top of the gun and animating it to where it blows back. glad you all liked the video, we have gotten an overwhelming response to it, so expect more cardboard action VERY soon!
I want a cardboard tank :-(
