Reznov kills Dumbledore, calling it now. Also if you're not going to AT LEAST listen when someone sane minded tells you about the game, and why this one will distance itself from the previous games then you don't get to criticize this game. You people going LALALA I CANT HEAR YOU ITS THE SAME SHIT AGAIN LALA NOT LISTENING is just getting childish. And no, i'm not just a CoD fan boy who praises the ground CoD walks on. Your arguements just sound like a damn broken record when you'll only say the same thing to criticize the game, which mind you hasn't even been released, or had too terribly much gameplay shown.
And here I thought it was a matter of opinions... Why are you comparing games that don't even have anything to do with FPS's to CoD? And I think its quite obvious why they wont get as many sales... None of those games have a multiplayer like BO2. Thats the same as if I were going to buy a CoD game just for the story. If you compare both game's singleplayers, ofc CoD is gonna suck, but you probably couldn't even compare multiplayers because those games might not even have them. And that is why people love it. Because people want a game with an entertaining multiplayer, something that CoD almost never fails to deliver. I've been a bigger fan, and the only time I can admit that they didn't really bring anything gamebreaking to the table was in MW3, where the game even went back a few steps. And I have no idea why people ask for new things in CoD games but compulsively buy the 10th rehashed remake of the first Mario game ever for that new bigger Nintendo console. Thats just being complete tools, and don't come with the "but its fun and cod isnt durr" thing. Don't make me point out the 40+ billion dollars in losses by Nintendo.
It's not a matter of opinion, it's fact. These games will be much better than any Call of Duty, will ever be. Based on basic principles such as immersion, ingenuity, graphical supremacy, etc. Dishonored, first person shooter. Bioshock: Infinite, first person shooter. The Last of Us, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell Blacklist. Third person shooters. I know why they're not going to get as many sales. It's because all the "uneducated" gamers who don't know the difference between a good game and a bad one. So they get overly attached to a popular franchise. Such as yourself; but obviously you're a little bit smarter than the average fan. Who wants multiplayer like Black Ops 2? Who enjoys the sound of small children screaming in your ears? Who likes being killed on spawn? Who likes hackers? Who likes bugs and glitches that never get fixed? In Black Ops 2; just like in Black Ops, they are really pushing the story. It's going to be absolute garbage, and they know that. Their fallback is the same old multiplayer they have relied on since the beginning. The Call Of Duty multiplayer is almost like a MMORPG. It's more grinding than actual entertainment. Grinding for weapons, grinding to prestige, grinding to try and have fun. Honestly, i'm not big fan of the shitty Mario remakes they grind out every now and then to catch themselves; but I seriously could care less. It's casual gaming, i'm not a casual gamer.
I really want this to be a good game but I can't shake the feeling that it's going to be bad.

People enjoy Call of Duty because they like playing it. Get over it and stop calling people who disagree with your video game opinions uneducated. You sound like a dick.

They went to play IL-2, WW2 online, Red Orchestra, ARMA, OFP or what ever else there was that was realistic or WW2 themed so RTSs count. But they didn't go on for years hating like morons they just said they didn't like any of the newer games after 1 or 2 and just went to play others. Today the people now mainly only played CoD 4 and when they complain that CoD is unrealistic they go play BF :v: like come on. Seriously yes people didn't like CoD 2 or 4 and they actually listened to their own complaints and went to play more realistic games and not go play another arcade game and these again are people who actually didn't like the gameplay anymore / new gameplay changes and not dumb crap like graphics or the server browser (not saying the server browser isn't important but they complained about the most important part of the game). Hell even people who have played all the CoDs would know that the gameplay has been the exact same since CoD 1 but most people complaining now wouldn't know because they only played 4 and then when they complain about the unrealistic game play they jump to the next arcade unrealistic game and only buy a realistic game for it's zombie mod :v:

Everyone played CoD4 and were shocked to find MW2 hadn't changed very much, something I expected because I've been playing the CoD multiplayer since UO. The game has always been the same with each release adding a few new things.
So Vortigaunts are now black generals?
louis gossett jr is actually a very well established actor all around. shit, he was on roots.
Eh, not much you can change with a red-dot. I preferred Black Ops' Red Dots better though
They could do an Aimpoint for once.
Yes, and your opinion really matters more than anyone else right?
did I ever say that? no. I'm surprised you conclude your post with a dumb comment like that one
What I meant was the modern warfare+ cods, since they are pretty much completely different from 3 and 3 and under. I loved cod 2 and 4, but everything after 4 is just blah.
It seems like a lot of people think Call of Duty 4 was the last "good" Call of Duty game, but if you actually play it again you realize that the game is hilariously broken. You don't even have to fight, you can just run past everything to progress. It's not that great of a game.
I don't know about you guys but I don't look at CoD4 as the greatest game ever. The singleplayer had a broken system of "you have to run into the fire to progress" and the multiplayer had such ridiculous things such as juggernaut and martyrdom, not to mention only a few guns were even worth bothering with. Perks were completely unbalanced, as Stopping Power or Juggernaut ruled all the Tier 2 perks, and Steady Aim/Deep Impact did with Tier 3. Tier 1 perks were a bit more balanced, but I only used Bandolier, so whatever. Modern Warfare 2 on the other hand offered a more over-the-top storyline (this is opinionated, I didn't like it quite as much, but it wasn't terrible), but with a much better singleplayer that didn't throw unlimited waves of baddies at you like the first did. The multiplayer added a lot of customization with weapons having much better pros and cons and reasons to use different guns, and perks being balanced all around, with the exception of one each category that really fucked the game up. Sure, the lack of dedicated servers really sucked, and using the grenade launcher with Danger Close was too good for what it was, but overall I felt the game was an improvement over MW1, and had Infinity Ward had more time or not have been dissolved right after launch, they might've been able to offer fixes or not have them in the first place. A lot of the maps were great, too. There was no particular map that I completely hated, while on MW1 there were a few that I just loathed. Modern Warfare 3 sucked at everything (different company essentially) and went backwards in progression rather than forwards. It should have taken some of the great ideas from Black Ops and built upon them, as some of them could've been fleshed out better, but instead decided to go back and do exactly what people disliked about MW2, and not bring the good parts of it with it. Either way, that's my two cents. I haven't played a CoD game in a while since MW3 was such a failure, and really wouldn't consider myself a fanboy. I just liked CoDs before MW3, and would like to put my input to this whole situation.
Jesus black ops 2 looks boring but dat song
Does anyone else not get the graphics hate for COD? I mean they're not really pushing the envelope but saying that they look terrible is a bit of an exaggeration I think. I'd rather have them focus on at least trying to make innovations to the gameplay than being the next crysis or something, not that they've really been doing that either. I quit COD after MW2 though. Too many hackers online, the maps were shit, no dedicated servers, some weapons were overpowered. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, etc. If this one actually turns out to be decent, I'll grab it, but I can't help but doubt the likeliness of that.
That's what I've been saying. Lots of people complain about CoD's graphic details but they might play games with graphics that make people puke, and to be honest, the graphics aren't bad at all. Its BEYOND me how can someone say those graphics look bad. MAYBE outdated, but only compared to games like Crysis where the devs place all their bets on graphics. Heck, BF3's main selling point are the graphics and Back to Kharkand. Everything else has been done before. And again, you are comparing a FPS with mostly third person shooters, that probably don't even have multiplayer portions, which is what makes CoD excell in sales. Get off your high horse... People are entitled to their opinions and their tastes in games. There are no good or bad games. Bad games are usually games that are literally unplayable, full of buggy shit. You sound like those pretentious snobs who assume everything they do or use is better than everyone elses and only their choices are plausible and matter. Wanna know something? In 4 CoD games, never I have had big problems with hackers that I wouldn't have in any other games. Never have I had children screaming in my ears. Never have I had bugs/glitches "to be fixed" used against me. The only game where I had people spawn killing me was MW3, and thats because the maps suck ASS. Oh please, they are pushing the story... Some games don't push the story, complain more. Some games push the story, complain more. Jesus fuck you guys complain about everything as long as it has the CoD brand on it. No matter what, its cod, it sucks. [editline]12th July 2012[/editline]
did I ever say that? no. Trailer looks cool, but too bad it'll play like every other single COD.
Really? Where did you get the beta?
I was talking about every single CoD's progression in campaign.
I was talking about every single CoD's progression in campaign.
And he's pointing out that you don't know if Blops II is going to be like that.
Trailer looks cool, but too bad it'll play like every other single COD.
Oh and how do you know? It's not even out.
Trailer looks cool, but too bad it'll play like every other single COD.
Well yes sequels tend to do that.
Trailer looks cool, but too bad it'll play like every other single COD.
No... Really? Wow! Just like so many racing games play like each other and like many other shooters or sports games! Also, what the hell is an "uneducated gamer" ? That really has to be the snobbiest, most obnoxiously elitist comment I have ever seen. Makes you bandwagoners sound like complete assholes.
As a certain friend of Facepunch's said: Shooter games are like sports games. No matter how many ways you try to change them up, they're going to be the same in one way or another.
As a certain friend of Facepunch's said: Shooter games are like sports games. I have no idea what makes FP and any other bandwagoners whine about CoD.
Also, what the hell is an "uneducated gamer" ?
People who disagree with your video game opinions.
People who disagree with your video game opinions.
Why, those wretched philistines! I usually call those "normal people with opinions", but I like CoD so what do I know :downs:
Why, those wretched philistines! I usually call those "normal people with opinions", but I like CoD so what do I know :downs:
I like CoD, but I also love Deus Ex, Fallout, ARMA, Counter-Strike, Half-Life, GMod, Civilization 5, The Sims 3, etc. Ain't nothing wrong with liking CoD.
this looks alright to be honest, I thought black ops had a pretty good story and was fairly entertaining. Might actually be good if they don't have infinitely spawning bad guys in every section of the campaign like every other CoD (barring maybe MW2)
this looks alright to be honest, I thought black ops had a pretty good story and was fairly entertaining. This looks good, I'm going to buy this I did enjoy mw3 a little bit but it was pretty shit, the maps were cluttered with stuff that shouldn't be there, like cars everywhere in the road or layouts that would make the best of map designers want to throw a fit. Treyach are willing to actually try something new, Infinity ward/sledgehammer games though want to rehash it over and over and over and over..
