...What? A Dance With Dragons is like, one of the best of the books? (Well other than editing, it was rushed)
Yeah, this. I struggled through AFFC (except for the Brienne parts, I liked those), but A Dance With Dragons was so good. It's a huge book, but I flew through it like it was nothing.
For real AFFC onwards is just not fun to read, and would be less fun to watch. They're very obviously going to be changing a shit-ton from this moment onwards, and if they don't their ratings will plummet.
Are you seriously suggesting you didn't like (AFFC spoilers) [sp]watching Cersei fuck over the Lannister name even more than it has by being the worst ruler, mother and person ever?[/sp]

Cersei's POV in AFFC was hilarious.
I am excited, but to be honest I don't really know what they're going to do afterwards.
A Feast For Crows is honestly really boring, and it is a complete struggle to get through. That is such a stark (no pun intended) contrast to the first 3 books, which I couldn't stop reading.
It's just, well, [sp] the good guys lost. What is the point of reading if all the good characters are either dead, exiled, missing, or turning into pricks? There is nobody to really root for anymore, and even the "good characters" just spend the book mucking about. It's gonna get even worse when Jon Snow dies, something that I got spoiled (albeit I asked for it and honestly, I don't think I would have been able to read to that point anyways on my own)[/sp]
Serious Series Spoilers because people love to request "put what the spoiler is about" because they have no fucking self control.
That quote from Ramsay oh so fits here.
"If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention"
Still no Strong Belwas? What a waste.

It looked like Syrio Forel to me.
thought it was daario
also the viper looks really cool, looks like they found a great actor for him

[sp]Yes. There's no drive anymore with ADWD, well there sorta is, but everytime it pops up stuff swats it. It's just depression porn.
But Cersei was the highlight of AFFC, which she will be on the show. I was excited for the Dhornish, because they were good but used sneakiness and diplomacy like evil people, but they crush that too.[/sp]

Reading about the inner conflicted emotions in a political hell of a kingdom is fun... watching it will not be.
It looked like Ramsey getting slapped towards the end, liking this already.
New Mountain actor, fuck yeah.
Am I the only one who thinks this show is shit? I don't mind the books and I hate to sound pretentious but the show just seems like a low brow hyper-sexualized rendition without much concern for the narrative.
Wait, now that I think about it the book wasn't much different.
I don't even wanna watch the trailer

The show admittedly has it's errors and has to fill HBO nudity quotas, so even though I disagree strongly, I can see where you are coming from.
On the books though, they are a deep, well written story. The violence and sex is a reality of the world, and although I will admit that the author did slip in one to many scenes for him to fantasize about, the concern is certainly the narrative.
