He's a nice guy though
And Pewdiepie donates a ton of money to charity and is by all accounts a stand up guy. Doesn't change the fact that they're all doing the same old shit.
Type Markiplier into youtube and the first thing I see is FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 3 DRUNK PART 1
He's as garbage as the rest of them.
You're probably referring to Five Nights at Fuckboy's, which wasn't actually as bad as you'd think. He did do shots for it, but he was actually pretty darn good at the game. Not to mention that he's gone through all actual FNAF games and beat them on their hardest difficulties and challenges. Of course if you go by titles then sure, let's be ignorant for the sake of being ignorant and dismissive. What anyone who actually watches even only a few of his videos can tell you is that he's actually pretty good at games, and yeah, he can do some annoying things, but generally speaking it's at an actually tolerable level, however I will admit that it's purely subjective.
He actually respects games, at the very least. He'll quiet down respectfully during important moments, and numerous times he's actually provided some insightful commentary. But okay, let's just give wide, sweeping statements because we searched something and went no further. I also suspect that this post will most likely get discarded because I'm defending someone who mainly does the formulaic "camera in corner next to gameplay and yells during an LP" thing. Which is true probably only on the surface.

Doesn't mean his videos aren't shitty

His first FNaF video was absolutely dreadful.
They may have different personalities and quirks but they're all follow the same formula. They play a game that's usually gory, scary or has some form of shock value to it, slap facecam on it and scream profusely while making faces.
I might be wrong about this but I've never seen JackSepticEye do this.

Was mostly thinking Pewdiepie and Markiplier.
You know though, Dunkey HAS screamed and made loud noises at points. He isn't that different from what you think is a stereotypical YouTuber.

if i wanted good gameplay and silence during the important parts i'd just watch a regular gameplay video with no commentary though?
I guess? if you wanted a video without commentary then i guess you would just prefer no commentary? i mean in that case there's no point to watching game grumps either which we could all agree is objectively the best out of this category?
i mean if you wanna watch a comedy film that has drama in it, are you going to complain that you'd rather just watch a completely dramatic movie?
Dunkey will always be up there with the guys from Vinesauce as some of the best youtubers
Donkey is truly one of the great when it comes to youtube content.
EDIT: Dunkey*

what an embarrassing comparison
you know, you replied to someone that was saying markiplier is bad (because he's obnoxious) by saying he's not bad (because he's good at videogames). it sounds like you're excusing him/listing gameplay above the actual commentary when literally the only reason you'd ever watch an LPer over a regular gameplay video is the commentary

Who's Donkey?
Who's Donkey?
this guy of course

I have no fucking clue what you're talking about.
I sometimes watch Markiplier for no special reason but are you actually saying he's not 100% just like the two billion other let's players out there?
Plus, literally 80% of his entire character is doing that low groan-voice and being all disgusted-sounding at everything.
Dunks is god
Dunkey knows no bounds

I didn't actually realise Dunkey did shit like this, and he's surprisingly great at it. It's a shame terrible content will outperform genius like this.
This is the longest continuous time I've actually watched pewdiepie do things, nice.

To be fair his videos do have like a million views each.
Only difference is he aint trying to fellate his viewers for views. It just happened for him.
You know though, Dunkey HAS screamed and made loud noises at points. He isn't that different from what you think is a stereotypical YouTuber.
I don't mind people screaming but I mind facecams that eat up parts of the screen and that are obnoxious.
I don't mind people screaming but I mind facecams that eat up parts of the screen and that are obnoxious.
Plus it's the degree of it that matters. Dunkey raises his voice for comedic effect and is usually more like a laid-back arrogant type.
Others are always loud and obnoxious and then go quiet at some specific parts for comedic effect.
You know though, Dunkey HAS screamed and made loud noises at points. He isn't that different from what you think is a stereotypical YouTuber.
yeah but when dunkey screams it makes sense and it's for comedic effect and it's not through 3/4 of a video. everybody else screams because they're overacting being scared or they intentionally speak with a not-inside voice because clearly their super expensive microphones that are sitting 4 inches from their mouth can't pick up indoor voices

Someone made me watch a full PewDiePie video once.
The bullet just missed my brain.
This is still the best one.
You know though, Dunkey HAS screamed and made loud noises at points. He isn't that different from what you think is a stereotypical YouTuber.
The point is not "never yell ever, it can never be funny", the point is that being loud is not a joke in and of itself. Yelling can work for comedic effect, but only to supplement an actual joke, and only in moderation.
They may have different personalities and quirks but they're all follow the same formula. They play a game that's usually gory, scary or has some form of shock value to it, slap facecam on it and scream profusely while making faces.

You're not wrong, but Mark does do some sketch comedy with cyndago every now and then, and can actually act. Sorta.
They're not really the greatest but it's something.

He screams and makes loud noises at the right times for comedic effect, not just doing it like some of the other Youtubers for random dumb reactions. Unless he's making fun of other Youtubers like above.

"I DON'T HAVE ANY TEMPER ISSUEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "WHO SAYS THAT I HAVE TEMPER ISSUES?!?!?"
Also you guys forgot one of his best raps:

i feel like this video is very obnoxious and very counter intuitive to what it's trying not to do, but because it's agreeable in it's subject matter people are okay with it.
its like eugh, quit trying to start a war about people creating bad content and airing your dirty laundry, when you could be creating better content than any of those numbnuts (which he normally does so i can't wait for this video to pass over)
(also if you're gonna make videos that many many different people create, such as lets plays, prank call videos, etc. don't call other guys out saying they're stealing your idea. you're not the first person to prank call a pizza hut and put it on the internet. really.)
[editline]21st May 2015[/editline]
like "god how dare they steal my quality lets play ideas im the first one ever to troll league and everyone knows it"
